"Come here."
Apatite calls for me at the point she has been standing at, where she was floating over a few moments ago.
The sun is nearly at its peak, making it pretty hot, but I don't pay attention to it all that much.
I walk closer to her and feel the sun beaming down on me, but then feel a sense of peace, like this moment was calming, a needed process of life.
Apatite turn around and continues to the peak of the hill, in the clearing.
She turns as I continue my incline to her.
As I get there we stand about a foot away from each other.
"I want you to sit down here."
"Here?"
I ask as I point down to the ground and look over them both.
She nods.
"Yeah. Sit."
'I'm not a dog… oh nevermind.'
I think to myself as I sit down in front of her and look up to the eight year old girl.
"Now?"
She looks at me with a smile:
"Close your eye."
I furrow my eyebrows and squint my eyes.
"What why?"
The words coming out a tad bit more aggressive then ment to be.
With a calm and slightly irritated tone, she answers:
"Can you more easily imagine where your Soul starts if you leave your eyes open?"
My eyes remain squinting at her.
"What does that even mean?"
With the same exact tone she answers me.
"Where do you think your ability to use Soul Energy stems from?"
She kneels down in front of me.
"Your mind?"
She puts her finger to my head.
"Your hands?"
She points to my hands that are laid on my lap as I'm sat in a crisscrossing position.
"Or another part of your body?"
She says as she stands back up.
"So, close your eyes so that it'll be easier to imagine where your ability to use Soul Energy comes from."
I keep my eyes open to stare up at her, for that second it seems reasonable.
I close my eyes and take a deep breath, trying to imagine, what color my Soul would be, what area my Soul Energy would come from.
My heart beats softly in my eardrums, calming my brains thoughts and my hands feel tingly in a way.
I hold my two hands on my lap and continue to kelp my eyes closed.
And for a second, I feel something, it's radiant feeling, radiating throughout my enter body, tapping every part of me, as if it's hitting every pressure point that is on me.
I feel something pressure at my eye, but not on the right side, but instead on the left side.
Like it's trying to pry it open, to make me see what it wants me to see.
I open my eye to see darkness, the darkness of the eyepatch, not able to see anything.
Then a blink of pure light enters my sight. Many different shades, white, black, green, blue. The color of everything.
Before it fades once more.
My eye felt the incredible warmth of the light.
It was Soul Energy, with the color of life, the color of everything.
Almost matching that of earth.
"Your Soul Energy, doesn't come from your heart, nor your mind, but your body. It radiates off of yourself."
A voice, ethereal and powerful, with pure optimism in it.
The voice came from behind me.
Before I could even begin to turn my head to see what it was. My surroundings returned to normal, as I opened my right eye as well.
Apatite looked to the back of my head.
"What's wrong?"
I turn back around.
"Sorry… it was nothing."
I look up at her.
"I think I'll be ready to try and use Soul Energy."
I squeeze my hands once to feel the tightness to understand I'm still awake.
She smiles at me as I do.
"Okay!"
She grabs my wrists and pulls me up to my feet.
"Okay, so where does your Soul Energy come from?"
She asks and then releasing my hand as she gets red faced, but doesn't look away.
"I think... I think it comes from my body."
She nods.
"Okay, then I guess that means we move onto the next step to help you earn how to control you Soul Energy."
She says with enthusiasm in her voice.
"Now, the next thing you need to learn is Soul Energy Manipulation."
She tells me.
I tilt my head and give her a questioning look.
"What is Soul Energy Manipulation?"
"It's the ability to control the way you manipulate, your Soul Energy."
She gives me her own questioning look.
"I thought that one was more self explanatory compared to what I have told you before?"
I shake my head:
"No, sorry I guess I was just still a little in shock from understanding what my Soul Energy stems from."
I let out a puff of air.
She nods.
"Okay then from here I want you to try and feel it around your body."
"How?"
Apatite looks into the sky, with a look of wonder.
She clears her throat:
"Wow... I don't really know, I just felt it once at night and tried to use Soul Energy, then POOF! There it was a puddle of water on the ground."
She says as she looks down to the ground and a explosion in her hand when she says POOF.
"I guess, I also have to try and help you figure out how to wrap your Soul Energy around your fists before I help you learn actual Soul Magic."
I nod.
"Okay? How do I do that?"
She looks down, then up, eyeing me intensly.
"I would say the first step is to learn how to put the Soul Energy around your fists, then to wrap it around your clothes, but lets take it one step at a time."
I nod at her.
"Okay, I'll try to put it around my hands."
I say to her as I stretch out my fingers to get to understand the lengths I'll need to go to achieve what she had told me to do.
I then close my hands into fists.
And squeeze hard...
I just stand there looking into Apatite's face as I squeeze my fists tighter as I possibly could have.
"Is anything going to happen?"
I ask her as my hands are just being dug into by my fingernails.
"I mean, it looks like your trying but, I don't feel the Soul Energy...?"
She looks down to my hand and tilts her head at me.
"Are you even trying to imbued your fist with Soul Energy?!"
I look back at her, with eye wide open.
"I don't know how to do that?!"
"So you just stood there looking into my eyes, with so much intensity, yet all you were doing is closing your hands into balls and nothing else?!"
I nod, like hard and fast.
"Yeah? I thought that's how it would work?!"
"NO! It doesn't work like that?!"
"Then explain it better."
She looks around:
"You understand better!"
I then look around, looking for someone to tell me they didnt just hear her so some dumb shit.
"You're the teacher?"
I open my hand to point to her.
She sighs and gives, such an exhausted breath back in:
"This is going to be such an annoyingly long time for you to learn how to manipulate Soul Energy."
I nod in agreement.
"Yeah, I believe that."
