I've been standing in front of Marcilene as I tell her the colors of the magic as she tries to do some small magical spells before me.
"Okay, Lazuli! What color?"
She has a red colored ball in front of her as she points it downward toward the fire place.
"Fire magic."
As I say that Marcilene let's the spell fly. Hitting the fire place in the living room, that has the giant armor, with the gauntlets beside them. Metal and heavy.
Marcliene jumps with so much joy in the fact I was correct.
"Oh Great Zalvia! My baby brother knows what his Soul Magic is."
She jumps into me to grab me again as her whole body jumps with joy, even her Aura.
The door opens from behind Marcilene, and Steel enters the house and stands as he is covered in a small amount of blood.
Marcilene turns, and with no concern for Steel, she holds me up like a trophy.
"Dad, Lazi knows what his Soul Magic is."
Steel looks at me, red faced, all from the blood on his face.
"Don't do that... EWWW!"
I yell as I try to get away from the bloody Steel.
"Get me away!!!"
I try to wiggle myself free from Marcilene but her grip is strong on my chest, from my pits.
Steel smiles.
"Don't worry Lazuli, I'm not going to touch you and make you dirty."
I breath an air of relief when he says that… then he begins to walk toward me.
"Ahhh! You lied! Stay away!"
I wiggle hard and accidentally kick Marcilene in the stomach when I kick backwards.
Marcelino drops me and I land on a knee, wobbly. I quickly turn as I hear her, wheeze for air.
I rush to get to her, and so does Steel he rushes past me so fast I could barely see him, a faint red aura following him and his pathing painting the air that followed him.
I ignore it and move closer to Marcilene.
"You okay?"
She nods softly.
I look up at her as she finally gets air through her lungs.
Steel grabbing her head, and patting her.
"Lazi did it by mistake. You'll be fine yes?"
She takes a deep breath and speak:
"Yeah, I was just surprised by the sudden hit on my stomach. I'm okay Lazuli."
I didn't even know it, but a tear fell down my face, most likely from the fact I hurt someone that has been pretty close to me.
"Stop crying crybaby."
I wipe my face:
"I'm not a crybaby..?"
"You were just crying."
"There was just dust…"
Marcilene smiles:
"It's okay if your a cry baby… you're still a super cool brother."
I smile now:
"Thanks."
Marcilene then looks at Steel and hops up.
"Oh yeah Look at Lazuli's Soul Magic. He can tell what Magic I'm going to use."
Steel tilts his head:
"Hmm? What do you mean?"
"Just watch."
Marcilene stands up then her hands out in front of her, for a second a green magical light appears in her hands, then it disappears as her eyes roll to the back of her head.
Then she falls back, and if not for Steel she would have fell, the back of her head first into the ground.
"Marci!"
Steel yelled…
"Marcilene!"
Then I yelled.
I rushed to the other side of her body that Steel wasn't at and looked down at her as Steel held her lower and lower till she was softly placed onto the ground.
"Marci, are you okay?!"
Steel looked down to her, but couldn't see what I saw.
Her aura was dimming. It was just barely covering her body, like…
"How long has she been doing this?"
Steel looked at me.
"Shes been cast small magical spells for about thirty minutes."
I say afraid that she might die.
Steel took a deep breath then sighed:
"Oh. Okay.. she's fine, she just has Soul Exhaustion."
"What?"
Steel looked at Marcilene and picked her up into his arms as he stood tall.
"It means that she used up too much Magic without letting it recharge."
Steel looks at my concerned face.
"Don't worry Lazuli. She'll be fine, she just needs to rest."
I look at Steels face, then to Marcilene as her orange, now pulsing aura was covering her.
"Okay…"
I said but I wasn't fully sure that I wanted to leave her side, she most likely wouldn't be in this situation if I had been more careful and told her about her aura dimming, but I wasn't paying attention to her.
Steel brings her to the couch and then slowly pulls her down as he steps away, a good amount of the blood on him rubbed onto Marcilene giving her an ugly color of red on herself.
I walk closer to her and grab her arm some of the blood on my hand.
"She'll be fine, yes?"
Steel looks down to me as he moves away from Marcilene:
"Yes, she'll be fine Lazi. Just watch her for me okay. I'm going to take a bath."
Steel then back away from us both as he steps out of the living room into turn the corner and disappears behind the wall in the direction of the stairs.
I stared at Marcilene the whole time and after a while of staring at her, hoping for her to open her eyes I see weird tendrils appearing around her body, they begin from invisible places as they then attach to her body in random points.
Her arm, leg, maybe her forehead. But they all attach to one point of her body or another.
I bring my hand to it and it just goes though it, I try waving it off but it's unfazed.
Nothing happens to it when I touch it, but something does happen to Marcilene. Her body's organs aura gets brighter, not super brighter, but it's gets brighter.
A small bit, by a small bit.
Marcilene's eyes open and look around, she then looks at me. As I look at her.
"Hey… what happened?"
I look around.
"Steel-."
"Dad!"
She interrupted me to try and correct me.
"His name isn't "Steel" it's "Dad"."
I grit my teeth then nod, and without wanting to say it:
"Dad, said that you had Soul Exhaustion."
Marcilene nodded.
"Oh so that's how Soul Exhaustion feels like?"
I tilt my head.
She saw and explained what she ment:
"Dad told me on a few occasions that when you use to much Soul Energy, that you'll end up fainting."
Marlene then looks down to me:
"Are you okay Lazuli?"
I nod.
"I was just worried about you. And I…"
A tear runs down my face. As she looks down to me with a sad look.
"I should have told you that you were going to fall because your aura looked like it was dimming and the orange color would soon become to dim to be seen well."
I spoke between gasps of air and nasty, snotty tears.
"Lazuli, I'm fine… it's not like I'm gonna die. I just need to sleep, that what dad told me needs to happen if I ever met someone with Soul Exaustion."
"So then you're really gonna be fine?"
She nods, then chuckles:
"Dude I feel fine, just not on tiptop shape, just "Fine"."
Her eyes fluttered for a second as if she forced herself to stay up:
"Okay I'm going to get my rest now."
She said as she turned to her side, and away from me.
"Yes please."
Before I could even finish my sentence she was asleep.
I looked at her back, as she rested, the tendrils still connected to her body as what seemed to be Soul Energy was slowly flooding her body.
'Why do I feel this way…? I'm so sad for her, scare because I thought she was going to die.'
I've never had the chance to feel this way, my parents had me in a perpetual prison of School, then work, then sleep if I'm not trying to do the chores of everyone around the house.
My heart beats hard, I genuinely love her as a sister.
I grab her hand, it's soft, I hold it, then I grip it tighter. Like I don't want to see her hurt again.
I then put her hand on her chest and stand over her.
For a second a stare at her with a saddened look because I was unable to warn her, because I didn't know she would be hurt.
Then I lean down and hug her, before I step away.
I walk around the wall, out the stairs down the hallway, then back into the room.
I look between the four books that are there and dig into all of them to try and understand what My Soul Magic is.
