Chapter 65 - Chapter 65 — Divine Catastrophe

The moment stretched longer than it should have.

Ares stood unmoving at the center of ruin, yet the wound on his chest refused to close. It did not behave like a normal injury. It pulsed, alive, spreading jagged lines of golden light beneath his armor like something trying to escape.

The air around him distorted with every pulse.

Heat rose—not like fire, but like pressure, like reality itself was being forced to bend around something it could not contain.

For a single breath, the battlefield fell into unnatural silence.

No screams.

No collapsing steel.

No distant gunfire.

Even the flames flickering across shattered buildings seemed to hesitate.

Then—

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

The sound ripped through everything.

It wasn't laughter meant for amusement. It was fractured, layered, carrying echoes of countless voices beneath it. Rage. Pride. Madness. War itself given sound.

"You dare…" Ares spoke, his voice trembling—not from weakness, but from something far worse. Something breaking loose. "…make a god bleed?"

The ground beneath him gave out instantly.

BOOOOM!!!

Stone cracked apart like brittle glass, collapsing into itself as his aura surged outward in a violent explosion. The sky twisted above, clouds turning deep crimson as lightning tore across it again and again.

KRAAAASH!

DRROOOOM!

The air thickened, pressing down like an invisible ocean.

"I will show you…" Ares continued, his voice now layered, echoing as if an army spoke through him, "…what happens to those who challenge a god."

Von-Ra stood at the edge of the devastation, unmoving, watching.

'This pressure… it's not just increasing… it's changing… adapting… like it's alive.'

"If I fall…" Ares whispered.

The battlefield trembled in response.

"…then I will make this world fall with me!"

And then—

He released everything.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

A wave of destruction erupted outward without direction, without restraint. It was not an attack meant to defeat an enemy. It was annihilation, Buildings collapsed instantly

KRAAAASH!—

reduced to fragments before they even touched the ground. Soldiers were thrown into the air, bodies spinning helplessly before slamming into debris

THUD!

CRACK!

The earth itself split open, massive chasms forming as the ground tore apart beneath the pressure. Firestorms spiraled upward, devouring what little remained. This was no longer war.

This was extinction.

"NO!" Diana's voice cut through the chaos.

SHWOOOOSSH!

She moved without hesitation, her body becoming a blur as she rushed forward. Her shield slammed into falling debris

CLANG!

THUD!

redirecting it just enough to keep it from crushing those fleeing below.

"Move! Get out of here!" she shouted. A man stumbled near her, his face covered in blood, his legs barely holding him upright.

"W-we can't—!"

"You can!" Diana snapped, grabbing him and forcing him forward. "RUN!!!"

He hesitated for only a second before turning, dragging others with him as they fled.

Diana exhaled sharply, her jaw tightening as she turned back toward the battlefield.

'This isn't war… there's no strategy… no purpose… this is just pure destruction…'

Behind her— The air shifted.

Something else began to rise.

Von-Ra stood at the edge of a fractured crater, his body trembling—not with fear, but with something far more unstable.

Power.

Raw, overwhelming power surged through him, distorting the space around his form. The ground beneath his feet cracked, then slowly lifted, fragments of stone rising into the air as if gravity had lost its hold.

His breathing grew heavier.

Controlled—

Barely.

"…So this is where it leads," he muttered.

'My body… it's adapting too fast… every second it changes… evolves… but…'

His fingers clenched. '…I can feel it slipping.'

"Von-Ra…"

Diana's voice softened, but there was tension in it.

She stepped closer, cautious, She could feel it now.

That energy— It wasn't stable.

"You're losing control," she said.

He didn't answer. His gaze remained locked on Ares.

Then—

SHWOOOOOSH!!!

The air exploded behind him as he vanished.

Ares barely turned in time.

CRAAAAAAAAASH!!!

Von-Ra's fist slammed into his face with catastrophic force, bending the space around them as the god of war was launched across the battlefield like a falling star.

Before Ares could recover—

SHWOOOSH!

Von-Ra was already there. Faster. Sharper. Stronger.

His next strike landed—BOOM!—driving Ares into the ground. The impact split the earth again, sending debris flying outward in violent shockwaves.

Ares blocked the next attack—

CLANG!

Their clash echoed like colliding worlds.

He countered—

CRASH!

But Von-Ra adjusted instantly.

'I see it… every movement… every reaction…'

His body moved before thought could catch up, refining each attack in real time. Diana joined them.

SHWOOOSH!

Her lasso snapped forward—WRAP!

It caught Ares' arm for a fraction of a second.

That moment Was enough. Von-Ra's hand ignited with golden energy, brighter than before.

Not borrowed.

Not copied.

Awakened.

"STAY DOWN."

BOOOOOOOOM!!!

His strike landed directly on Ares' chest—on the glowing wound.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Shockwaves tore through the battlefield in rapid succession, each one heavier than the last, forcing everything nearby to collapse or be blown away.

For a brief moment—

Ares dropped to one knee.

His aura flickered.

Unstable.

Cracking.

Diana stepped forward, hope flashing across her face.

"We can do this—!"

Then Ares moved. He stood Slowly.

CRACK… CRACK… CRACK…

His armor shattered—then reformed, darker, sharper, more monstrous. Weapons began to manifest around him—blades, spears, axes—hovering in the air like extensions of his will.

"You have not faced war…" he said, his voice deeper now, layered beyond recognition.

"…you have faced only its shadow."

(AN: i don't want to show a weak god of war, its unfair for his title so lets be realistic. so i make him transforms like Cell and Freeza elevating his strength every transformation)

Before either of them could react—

SHWOOOOOSH!!!

He vanished.

CRAAAAAAAAASH!!!

Von-Ra was slammed into the ground with overwhelming force, the impact carving a massive crater that spread for miles.

"VON-RA!" Diana shouted.

She raised her shield—

Too late.

BOOOOOOM!!!

Ares' strike shattered through her defense, sending her flying across the battlefield—CRASH! THUD!—her body rolling through debris before finally stopping against broken stone.

The world spiraled.

The sky screamed with thunder.

The earth split further apart.

Reality itself began to warp under the pressure.

And at the center—

Von-Ra rose.

Slowly.

Unsteadily.

Something was wrong.

His aura erupted outward in violent bursts, unstable and chaotic. The ground around him cracked deeper, pushing everything away—including Diana as she tried to approach.

"Von-Ra!" she called out, straining against the force.

He lowered his head.

His entire body trembled.

'Too much… it's too much… I can't hold it…'

"…I can't… stop it…" he whispered, his voice strained.

The energy around him surged again—

BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

A massive shockwave exploded outward, forcing even Ares to pause his advance.

Diana's eyes widened.

"Von-Ra… STOP!"

But he couldn't.

The power kept rising it is Unstable and Uncontained.

Above them Ares smiled. Not with anger. Not even with rage. But with anticipation.

"Yes…" he whispered.

"Let it grow…"

His eyes burned with something dangerous.

"so that when i consume you.... it will be more worth it"

'He wants this…' Diana realized, her breath catching. 'He's not trying to stop it… he's waiting for it.'

Because now— This was no longer just a battle. Von-Ra's scream tore through the battlefield.

"ARGGHHHH!!!"

Light erupted from his body, blinding, overwhelming, unstoppable.

And for the first time— Even Ares prepared himself.

Because whatever was about to be born from that power Was no longer something either of them fully understood. And when the light finally swallowed everything—

A single thought echoed in the chaos.

'What… am I becoming…?'
