Amara adjusted her bag nervously as she entered Oladipo Corp. The office smelled of fresh coffee and ambition. Everyone seemed busy, too focused to notice her.
"First day?" a calm voice spoke behind her.
Amara turned to see a tall man with piercing eyes and a half-smile.
"Yes, I'm Amara," she said, trying to sound confident.
"I'm Damilare. Welcome," he replied. But there was something in his gaze that made Amara shiver — as if he already knew her secrets.
She shook it off. First day nerves, that's all.
But when she opened her assigned files, her blood ran cold. The documents had details from her childhood she had never shared with anyone.
