Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Aftermath of Impossible

The silence in the grand arena was so heavy it felt physical.

Hundreds of noble students, instructors, and high-ranking officials stood frozen. Their eyes were wide, fixed on the center of the dust-clouded platform where a 'Zero-Rank' commoner was holding the Empire's golden prodigy by the throat.

Prince Kael clawed at my arm, his face turning a sickly shade of purple. The solar fire he had summoned was gone, snuffed out like a candle in a hurricane.

"Release him... this instant!" a voice thundered.

Lord Varian, the Academy's Head Instructor, leaped from the balcony. He landed on the stage, the ground cracking under his Rank 7 pressure. His presence alone was enough to make ordinary people faint.

I felt it again. That cold, surging electricity in my veins. My iridescent silver eyes flickered, reflecting Varian's terrifying mana. My muscles, which should have been crushed by his pressure, instead relaxed.

"He tried to execute me for a crime I didn't commit," I said. My voice wasn't a scream; it was a calm, steady blade that cut through Varian's aura. "Since when is 'lack of talent' a capital offense in this Academy?"

Varian stopped in his tracks. His eyes narrowed. He could feel it—my power wasn't just growing; it was matching his. Every ounce of pressure he exerted was being mirrored back at him, ten percent stronger.

"You..." Varian whispered, his hand going to the hilt of his sword. "What monster are you hiding in your soul, boy?"

I let go of Kael, letting him slump to the floor like a sack of useless grain. I didn't run. I didn't bow. I simply turned my back on the most powerful man in the room.

"I'm not a monster," I replied, walking toward the exit. The crowd parted before me like the Red Sea, fear etched into every face. "I'm just the mirror you're all afraid to look into."

[Reward: Hidden Base Unlocked.]

I stepped out of the arena and into the fading sunlight. The Academy was no longer my home; it was my hunting ground. And the hunt had just begun.
