Chapter 2 - The Day Everything Broke...

THIRD PERSON POV:

The afternoon sun spilled lazily through the tall windows of Section E's classroom, painting the floor in warm gold.

Laughter filled the room.

Loud. Carefree. Cruel.

But Jasper Jean Fernandez Mariano —

Jay Jay didn't notice any of it at first.

Her entire world was focused on one person.

Keifer.

He stood near the back desks with the rest of the boys — Cin, Felix, Calix, Eren, Edrix, Rory, Eman, Yuri, Drew, Blaster, Josh, Mayo, Kit… and David.

Section E.

The most feared group in school.

And somehow… the group she had slowly become a part of because of him.

Because of Mark Keifer Watson.

Jay leaned against the teacher's desk, arms crossed, watching him with a small smile.

They had fought earlier that morning.

Something stupid.

Something small.

But now he had asked everyone to stay after class.

He said he had something to say.

Her heart beat a little faster.

Was he going to apologize?

Or maybe—

Her thoughts stopped when Keifer suddenly looked at her.

His eyes were cold.

Too cold.

Something twisted inside her stomach.

"Keifer?" she said slowly.

The room suddenly went quiet.

Then—

Felix snorted.

Rory started laughing.

Blaster slapped Josh's shoulder.

Within seconds the entire group burst into loud laughter.

Everyone.

Except David, who leaned against the window with his arms crossed, watching silently.

Jay frowned.

"What's funny?"

Keifer didn't answer immediately.

Instead he leaned back against a desk, crossing his arms casually.

Like this was entertainment.

Like she was entertainment.

Then he spoke.

And the world shifted.

"Tell me something, Jay," he said lazily. "Did you really fall for it that easily?"

Her brows furrowed.

"Fall for what?"

More laughter.

Cin wiped tears from his eyes.

"Oh my god," he wheezed. "She still doesn't get it."

A cold chill ran through Jay's spine.

She looked at Keifer again.

"Keifer… what are they talking about?"

He tilted his head slightly.

Then he smiled.

But there was no warmth in it.

Only cruelty.

"I used you."

The words slammed into her chest.

For a moment… she couldn't breathe.

"What…?"

"I said," he repeated slowly, "I used you."

The classroom went silent again.

Jay stared at him.

Waiting for him to laugh.

Waiting for him to say just kidding.

He didn't.

Instead he pushed himself off the desk and walked closer.

Every step felt like a countdown.

"You really thought I loved you?" he said.

Her throat tightened.

"Keifer…"

"I mean seriously boys," he continued, looking around the room. "She actually believed all that boyfriend crap."

More laughter exploded.

Rory clapped loudly.

"Best plan ever and the easiest bet I have won.."

Jay's hands started trembling.

"What plan?"

Keifer looked directly into her eyes.

"The one where I make you fall in love with me… and then destroy you."

Her heart stopped.

"What…?"

"The plan where the entire Section E knows about it."

He gestured around the room.

"They've known from the beginning."

Felix grinned.

"Every date."

Calix added, "Every sweet message."

Eren laughed.

"Every time you looked at him like he hung the moon."

Jay's breathing became uneven.

"No…" she whispered.

She looked at them.

One by one.

Faces she trusted.

Faces that now looked amused.

"You're lying."

Keifer chuckled softly.

"You want proof?"

He leaned closer.

His voice dropped.

"You said you loved me two nights ago."

Her eyes widened.

"And guess what?" he whispered.

"I recorded it."

Blaster burst out laughing.

"Man, she sounded so serious."

Something inside Jay shattered.

"You… recorded it?"

"Of course."

Her chest rose sharply.

"Why?"

Keifer's expression hardened.

"Because of your brother."

Her brows knit together.

"What brother?"

He stared at her like she was stupid.

"Aries Fernandez."

The laughter in the classroom slowly died down as Jay's breathing became uneven.

She stared at Keifer like she didn't recognize him anymore.

"You're lying," she whispered.

Keifer tilted his head slightly.

"About what?"

"About Aries."

A few of the boys exchanged looks.

Jay wiped her tears angrily.

"Aries is my cousin," she said. "I've lived with him my entire life."

Keifer's smile slowly widened.

"That's what they told you."

Her heart skipped.

"What?"

He stepped closer, lowering his voice like he was revealing something disgusting.

"I investigated your entire family history."

Jay's stomach twisted.

"You did what?"

"Oh yeah," Rory muttered from the back. "Man went full detective."

Keifer ignored them.

"Your precious Aries Fernandez?" he continued.

"He's not your cousin."

Jay shook her head immediately.

"Yes he is."

"No."

"Yes he is!"

He leaned down so their faces were inches apart.

"He's your brother, Jay."

The room went silent again.

Even the boys stopped laughing for a moment.

Jay blinked.

Slowly.

"What…?"

"Your older brother," Keifer repeated.

Her brain refused to process it.

"That's not funny."

"I'm not joking."

"You're lying!"

Keifer grabbed his phone again and pulled up several documents.

Birth records.

Old photos.

Family files.

He threw the phone onto the desk in front of her.

"Look."

Jay stared at the screen.

Her hands shaking.

One document showed two names.

Micheal Aries Fernandez —

Mother:Jeana Fernandez

Father:Ares Diaz

Jasper Jean Fernandez —

Mother:Jeana Fernanadez

Father:Jashfer Mariano

Same mother.

Jay's breathing stopped.

"No…"

Keifer crossed his arms.

"The Fernandez family lied to you."

Her head spun.

"But why…?"

"Because you're not supposed to exist."

The words felt like knives.

Jay looked up slowly.

"What does that mean?"

Keifer's voice turned cruel again.

"Your mother had an affair."

The boys were silent now.

Even they seemed uncomfortable.

"Your father," Keifer continued, "was already married when you were conceived."

Jay felt like the air had disappeared.

"And when your grandfather found out?" he added.

"He refused to acknowledge you."

Her legs weakened again.

"So the Fernandez family raised you quietly."

"As the 'cousin.'"

Jay's heart pounded violently.

All the memories flashed through her mind.

Aries always being overprotective.

The way the elders looked at her sometimes.

The whispers.

The tension.

"Oh my god…"

Her voice came out broken.

"Aries knew…?"

Keifer shrugged.

"Of course he did."

Jay's chest tightened painfully.

"And you still don't get it?" Keifer continued coldly.

"I didn't do this just for fun."

Her head snapped up.

"You're still part of his bloodline."

"And that makes you my enemy."

Her eyes burned with tears again.

"You destroyed me for something I didn't even know and someone who hates me...."

Keifer didn't flinch.

"Who cares, I used you just so i could see little aries in despair..."

Behind him the boys started murmuring again.

Felix muttered, "Damn."

Cin whispered, "She really didn't know."

But Keifer remained merciless.

"You fell in love with me," he said quietly.

"And the whole Section E watched it happen."

Jay looked around the room.

At every single face.

Cin.

Felix.

Calix.

Eren.

Edrix.

Rory.

Eman.

Yuri.

Drew.

Blaster.

Josh.

Mayo.

Kit.

All of them.

Watching.

Knowing.

Humiliation burned through her chest.

Her voice cracked.

"So every time I sat here… you were laughing at me?"

No one answered.

That silence was the worst part.

Her hands started shaking violently.

"Keifer…" she whispered.

For one last second.

She hoped.

But his expression never softened.

So she slapped him.

And the entire room froze.

"You falling in love with me was just part of the plan."

Her vision blurred.

"You kissed me…"

She pounded against his chest..

"Part of the plan."

"You said you cared about me."

"Acting."

"You said—"

He cut her off.

"I said whatever I needed to say to break you."

Silence.

Jay's chest heaved.

The boys were watching.

Waiting.

She felt something wet slide down her cheek.

Tears.

And that made them laugh again.

"Oh look," Felix smirked. "She's crying."

Jay wiped her face quickly.

But the tears kept coming.

Her voice cracked.

"Why…?"

Keifer's eyes were merciless.

"Because you're nothing but Aries Fernandez's sister."And that makes you trash."

The word hit harder than anything.

Trash.

Jay stared at him.

Her entire body shaking.

"I trusted you.I loved you."

He shrugged.

"Again,Your biggest mistake."

Something snapped inside her.

Her hand moved before she could stop it.

SLAP harder this time.

The sound echoed through the classroom.

Keifer's head snapped to the side.

The laughter stopped instantly.

Jay stood there breathing heavily.

"You're disgusting."

Slowly…

Keifer looked back at her.

His eyes were darker now.

Dangerous.

"You're still talking?"

She stepped closer.

"Everything you said to me was fake?"

"Yes."

"Everything?"

"Yes."

Her voice broke.

"Even when you held me when I cried?"

"Yes."

That was it.

Jay's legs gave out.

She collapsed onto her knees.

The tears came harder now.

Uncontrollable.

She tried to breathe but it hurt.

Her chest felt like it was collapsing.

And the worst part—

The boys were still watching.

Some amused.

Some uncomfortable.

Except David, whose expression had grown tense.

Jay forced herself to stand.

She wiped her face roughly.

Then she looked at Keifer one last time.

Her voice was barely a whisper.

"I hate you."

He didn't react.

That hurt more.

Jay turned and ran.

Out of the classroom.

Out of the building.

Out of the school.

She didn't stop running until she reached the front gates.

Her vision blurred with tears.

Her chest burned.

Her heart felt like it was being crushed.

She stumbled onto the sidewalk.

Then—

A black car stopped in front of her.

The door opened.

A tall man stepped out.

"Jay?"

She froze.

He walked closer quickly.

"Jay Jay?"

She looked up.

"Percy…?"

The moment she saw him…

Everything broke.

She ran straight into him.

And sobbed.

Full body shaking.

Percy wrapped his arms around her immediately.

"Hey— hey— what happened?"

She couldn't answer.

Her voice wouldn't work.

All she could do was cry.

So Percy gently guided her into the passenger seat of his car.

"Come on," he said softly.

"I'm taking you somewhere quiet."

One Hour Later

A secluded beach

The waves crashed softly against the shore.

Jay sat on the sand with her knees pulled to her chest.

Her eyes were swollen.

Her breathing finally steady.

Percy sat beside her quietly.

Then he sighed.

"I guess it's time I told you everything."

Jay looked at him weakly.

"Everything… about what?"

Percy stared at the ocean.

"About your family."

That's when she felt that everything from here was a turning point of her entire life the one where she would know every secret that was burried to her...
