Just as Faora silently held her resentment on the lunar base, the Kryptonian emperor himself had been living through a very different situation.
Recently, Yun Chen had been enjoying what could only be described as a honeymoon with Carol Danvers.
For Carol, everything had unfolded almost like a story she never expected to experience. A lonely and desperate woman had fallen into danger, only to be rescued by a young and overwhelmingly powerful emperor.
More importantly, that emperor was not only powerful but also incredibly charismatic.
Under such circumstances, Carol gradually found herself falling for him.
Half willingly and half helplessly, the legendary cosmic heroine eventually gave her first time to Yun Chen during one of those confusing yet emotional moments.
Since then, the two of them had spent days traveling across Neptune together.
Yun Chen often rode his winged beast, Xiao Hei, carrying Carol across the planet's vast landscapes. They flew over mountains, crossed endless forests, and explored oceans and deserts alike.
Wherever they went, traces of their adventures remained.
Only recently, after returning to the palace, did Carol finally remember something important.
Earth.
For years, the Kree Empire had refrained from attacking Earth largely because of her presence. As one of their most valuable warriors, she had served as an unofficial shield protecting her home world.
But now everything had changed.
Ms. Marvel had defected.
The Kree Empire would never tolerate such betrayal.
War was inevitable.
The Kree were a race defined by aggression and conquest. Revenge was practically written into their culture. Sooner or later, they would come to punish Carol for her defection.
"I won't let them succeed," Carol said firmly as she clenched her fists.
Her injuries had completely healed after weeks of recovery. The cosmic energy within her body had returned to its peak state.
Even if a Kree fleet appeared, she was confident she could face them.
Still, when she looked at Yun Chen, she felt conflicted.
He had already shown a certain… enthusiasm for her body, and that complicated her emotions further.
Carol didn't know how to say goodbye.
She didn't want to drag him into her personal conflict.
After all, Yun Chen was the ruler of the Kryptonian Empire. He carried the responsibility of rebuilding an entire civilization. Asking him to follow her to Earth felt unfair.
In her mind, it almost felt like trading her body for his help.
And Carol Danvers was not that kind of woman.
Yes, she could be romantic and carefree at times, but she was also proud. Beneath that charm was a powerful warrior capable of smashing a battleship apart with her bare fists.
Today, however, something else was happening.
It was the day the dwarves delivered the Infinity Gauntlet.
Inside the massive forge hall of Nidavellir, the golden glove gleamed brilliantly under the furnace light. Its polished surface reflected a dazzling glow, and when tapped lightly, it produced a clear metallic tone.
That sound alone proved the extraordinary quality of the material.
King Eitri stood proudly beside the creation.
"This gauntlet is forged from a rare extraterrestrial metal," he explained confidently. "Its strength surpasses even Asgard's Uru metal, and it conducts energy perfectly. It is the ideal material for constructing the Infinity Gauntlet."
As a master craftsman who had spent his entire life forging legendary weapons, Eitri could not hide his pride.
"I'll say this honestly," he continued. "This is the greatest creation of my life. I doubt I will ever produce something this perfect again."
Yun Chen smiled slightly.
"Well then, I suppose it's time to test it."
Inside the forge hall, Carol carefully helped Yun Chen place the golden gauntlet onto his right hand.
At the same time, he held a glowing purple gem in his left palm.
The Power Stone.
Click!
The moment Yun Chen inserted the gem into the socket, the Infinity Gauntlet activated.
A powerful surge of energy erupted instantly.
Eitri was caught off guard by the sudden radiation wave and was knocked backward onto the ground.
Carol inhaled sharply but managed to remain standing as she resisted the intense energy fluctuations.
"Are you alright?" Yun Chen asked.
Carol nodded.
Yun Chen raised his arm slightly.
Just as Thanos had intended when designing the weapon, the Infinity Gauntlet allowed its wielder to manipulate the Infinity Stones with remarkable precision.
For a moment, Yun Chen felt as if limitless power flowed through his body.
He casually guided the energy outward.
Far away in orbit, an abandoned satellite suddenly shifted.
The invisible pull of gravity bent to Yun Chen's will as the satellite slowly moved through space.
"Wow!"
The dwarves watching from nearby burst into shocked cries.
"Unbelievable!"
"That power is terrifying!"
"Even the gods could never control energy like that!"
Everyone stared at Yun Chen with awe and fear.
Even Carol, who wielded cosmic energy herself, looked at him with open admiration.
"Amazing," she whispered.
Every small movement of Yun Chen's hand seemed capable of reshaping the universe.
Simply manipulating gravitational forces to move a distant satellite required an unimaginable level of power.
To ordinary beings, it was nothing less than divine.
Yun Chen simply smiled.
"It's decent," he said casually.
What no one else realized was that Yun Chen could already control the Power Stone without the gauntlet thanks to the Oracle System.
The Infinity Gauntlet was useful—but not strictly necessary for him.
Still, he appreciated the craftsmanship.
"King Eitri," Yun Chen said with a satisfied nod. "You've exceeded my expectations."
He pointed casually toward the satellite drifting in the distance.
"Consider that my gift to your kingdom. If anyone ever tries to attack Nidavellir again, I'll drop that satellite on their home world."
His voice carried a relaxed confidence.
No one present thought he was joking.
Eitri had been hoping for exactly such a promise.
"Your Majesty of Krypton," the dwarf king said respectfully, "our people can forge many kinds of weapons. If you wish, we can build powerful arms for your empire as well."
The dwarves clearly understood that aligning themselves with Yun Chen was their safest path forward.
However, Yun Chen shook his head.
"I don't need weapons," he replied. "And I'm not used to using them. A Kryptonian's strongest weapon is their own body."
Eitri laughed awkwardly.
"My mistake."
His gaze shifted toward Carol.
It was obvious to anyone that the beautiful woman standing beside Yun Chen held a special position in his life.
Unfortunately, Eitri specialized in forging weapons, not jewelry or decorative items.
Before he could speak, Yun Chen smiled.
"Make a suit of armor for my woman."
"What?"
Eitri blinked in surprise.
He clearly hadn't expected the request.
"You're saying… she's a warrior too?"
Yun Chen nodded slightly.
"And in the future, all Kryptonian equipment will be forged by your people. I'll assign two Kryptonian soldiers to remain in Nidavellir permanently."
Now that the Kryptonian population was steadily increasing, Yun Chen had plenty of soldiers available.
Sending a few to guard the dwarves cost him nothing.
"Understood, Your Majesty," Eitri said with visible excitement as he bowed deeply.
After leaving Nidavellir, Carol's face carried a warm smile.
Since leaving the Kree Empire, she had not possessed a proper combat suit. The fact that Yun Chen remembered something so small touched her deeply.
But that happiness quickly faded.
A hint of sadness appeared on her face.
"Yun Chen… maybe it's time for me to leave," she said quietly. "Earth needs me."
She had gathered the courage to say those words after struggling internally for a long time.
Yun Chen, however, laughed.
"Earth?"
He looked at her with amusement.
"Don't you know that I've already established a base somewhere in the solar system?"
"What?!"
Carol's eyes widened in shock.
Yun Chen laughed inwardly.
Perhaps Carol believed everything he did was for her sake.
What she didn't realize was that Yun Chen himself had once been a human from Earth in his previous life. Many of his decisions had been planned long before she entered the picture.
Of course, protecting Earth and developing Krypton were not mutually exclusive goals.
Besides…
Building an empire and enjoying beautiful women at the same time was not exactly a difficult choice.
In Yun Chen's mind, the answer was simple.
The throne of the universe…
And the women beside him…
He intended to claim both.
