Chapter 4 - 4:A priest

I touched the very hard, very present priest collar and slid down the wall again. My knees seemed to have stopped working.

This was a triple blow and my mind was just trying to survive through it. I took a deep breath and stood up.

The original owner had been wearing a black shirt and black trousers. I looked at the damn collar for a while and chuckled to myself.

I had been in so much of a hurry that I forgot I could just take it off and I won't be a priest anymore. I reached for the collar and tried to remove it but my hands wouldn't move.

"What's happening?"

[You will be a priest and have to complete the missions while also operating as a priest. That was the condition for your reincarnation.]

'Ooh! Fuck me'

Now I really wanted to smash something. Just how fucked up could things really get?

"What's the timeline"

[Third day of the apocalypse]

I ran my hands through my blond hair, my frustration reaching its peak.

"So you're telling me, the fucking zombie apocalypse has already started."

[Yes]

"Oh god. This is insane. Then who am I really, like the life of the original ?"

I was starting to accept that this was my reality and I had to think fast or I was going to be torn alive before I could even preach.

[Your name is still the same Mathias Blein. No family, no friends, just ordained, this church was rented using all his savings. A good man but died early. Died of a heart attack]

I could already feel the irony and sarcasm from the system.

"Is there anything else I need to know except that I have to save villainesses?"

I asked seriously. If this is my reality then I have to at least know what I'm doing.

[You can just say 'status' and you will get all the information you need]

"Status!"

I called out loud.

[You don't have to be so loud just in your heart or mind just not out loud.]

"So this is my status huh?"

I looked at the screen both overwhelmed and happy. In the book, healers and Lightening superpowers were one in a million.

I had gotten both of them.

"Doesn't the protagonist have Lightning?"

I asked trying to see if my memory was playing games with me.

[Yes. You have to work hard or you'll get your ass beaten up after he catches up to you power wise and finds out you took his darling enemies.]

I could definitely hear the sarcasm in those words. I wasn't really that worried since we weren't starting in the same playground.

While everyone was around level 0 or 1 i was at level 2, little but at least better than the rest.

We just had to see who kills more zombies. To increase one's power one has to absorb the crystals from almost anything that has mutated.

[New quest: Save a Villainess]

[Rewards: Unlocking shop, movement restrictions lifted]

I looked at the quest and Rewards before blowing up.

"Movement restriction, what the fuck does that mean?"

I asked but I could already vaguely place its meaning.

[You are confined in the church until you save a Villainess. The explanation is right there on the quest]

I rolled my eyes at that.

"Then how am I supposed to save her when I cannot look for her?"

I said sarcastically. Knowing where Cora was and the fact that she was going to die made me worried.

If this was really her world, she was now probably sitting at home panicking while taking care of her stepsister and their childhood friend who had lost consciousness as they gained power or they were already awake and having a misstep fight.

[The system is not that cruel. The church is located in the community next to hers. You just have to find a way to get her to come to you. If you save her right now, she won't be a Villainess and her hate would not have manifested. She still thinks of the heroine as somewhat family.]

I nodded but I could feel the stress building. The last part I read was her sister cruelly cutting her eye and the whimp of a man who had been her childhood friend just watched on.

"So I just have to attract her attention right?"

I asked again just to confirm.

[Yes and pray to the lord that she arrives safely or she will suffer the same fate she suffered in the novel.]

I gulped. I splashed water on my face and walked out of the bathroom.

I had a Villainess to save, somehow.
