Avery pops my arm into place with a wet pop. Why does the nightmarespawn keep throwing nightwalker at me? I keep losing, I mean yeah that could be why, but still nightwalk out of all people? Its getting annoying. I'm sure there's saints with powers that counter mine better. And also
"Derek, what in the hell are you doing?"
She opens one eye, leaning on Averys shoulder
"look everyone gives off essence, healers tend to give off the most. Get off my back about it"
Avery flicks my head
"come on get off her back about it."
Gods their both so annoying. Derek, apparently her father wanted a boy and thats what's up with the name, isn't as rude as she came off as she i first heard her, still this is absurd. Avery is as rude as ever.
"Don't flick me."
She scoffs
"i just got out of combat too. Idiot"
so far we've gotten about 23 citadels after the first few its gotten a lot harder. The nightmarespawn has been appearing more and more.
"Just because you got out of combat doesn't mean you can flick me."
Hes gotten into a lot of fights with war, never even getting close to winning and his normal tactics arent working to steal away their domain. I get up now that my main problem is solved
"your not fully healed"
I shave my hand dismissively
"I'm fine, their mostly small cuts"
i wipe my clothes off and i walk out. I still have to check in with morgan.
As i walk through the camp i hear a snort.
"Oh flame of the divine"
i jog over to the massive tryant
"it has been some time."
He snorts. I lean on a close by wall
"gods your beat up. More and more nightmare creatures have been showing up?"
He nods, flame of the divine is in charge of protecting the citadels around here with the other echos. He sighs waving his hand
"so more and more thralls have been showing up. Do you think his preparing to attack?"
He thinks for a second before nodding. Then does a X
"so not us. Then mordret. That does make sense. Likely in a attempt to capture him, get rid of the smaller problem. If possible throw them at each other"
knowing his and mordret's past it comes off as more vile. Trying to use the child you abandoned as a weapon. He nods then puts a hand over his face
"seer of the infinite has made one thing clear, it can't be touched by the enemy or its ability could be shut off so that explains a lot"
he nods then swings his hand
"I'm actually going to meet morgan soon"
he nods then waves me away
"see you soon"
he salutes me
"you too flame of divine. Dont die"
i start walking away, I hope he will be okay.
I finally make it to Morgan's tent.
"Morgan I'm her-"
she grabs me by the shirt pulling me in. She summons a silence memory
"so how soul reaper doing?"
She sighs
"its a death zone almost as bad, if not worse, as the eternal city. Its full of great creatures, likely lead by a cursed tryant. One that was made in the same way as the emotion devourer."
The eternal city, its citadel has yet to be found so its been mostly abandoned by the nightmarespawn.
"That bad?"
She nods sitting down heavily
"yeah."
We've, more so morgan, kept contact with soul reaper in a way I am yet to be fully sure of.
"What has been the gains after this trip?"
She nods a few times
"new soul for the legacy, a new armor memory, a new charm and more of the map filled out"
i nod tapping my foot
"I haven't heard any hints of anyone knowing yet."
She nods
"neither have I but we need to keep our eyes out. So far weve not spilled it but with seer getting more and more nosy I have no doubt she will find out sooner or later. We just need it to be later"
i look around briefly
"anything else to report?"
She nods
"i believe soon the nightmarespawn will attack mordret and i don't think he is going to run."
I nod
"yeah i thought so too. I think the nightmarespawn is going to attempt to capture him."
Morgan makes a face like she had smelled rotten eggs
"he's already ruined my brother once. Dealing with him being ruined even more sounds horrible."
She calms down
"that and beast is also there. Most likely a similar thing will happen. Thats to assume that we won't attack, and I don't doubt will we attack as well."
I groan at the idea
"i bet I'll be attacked by nightwalker again"
she smiles shaking her head
"you'll probably, and i say probably, be a body guard for seer."
I frown
"thats not much better morgan. And your jinxing me too"
she actually laughs a small bit
"hey come now, someone else will be assigned too."
