The jungle hides more than ruins and treasure. It hides dangers that could trap them forever. Now Kareem and his team must face the truth about the jungle… before the jungle claims them. Chapter 1 - The Edge of the Unknown

The jungle looked peaceful from a distance.

Tall green trees stretched endlessly across the horizon, their leaves glowing under the early morning sun. Birds flew over the canopy, and a cool breeze moved slowly through the forest.

But Kareem knew better.

He stood at the edge of the jungle with his backpack resting heavily on his shoulders. His eyes scanned the thick wall of trees in front of him. Once they stepped inside, everything would change.

Behind him, Lena adjusted the camera hanging around her neck.

"Are you sure this is the place?" she asked.

Kareem nodded slowly.

"This is the exact location from the old map."

Marcus stepped forward and looked into the jungle. He had spent years studying forests and survival techniques, but even he seemed uneasy.

"This jungle has a reputation," Marcus said quietly.

Daniel laughed as he pulled out his tablet.

"Every jungle has a reputation," he said. "People say these things to make stories sound interesting."

Marcus didn't smile.

"No," he replied. "This one is different."

The group fell silent.

The forest in front of them seemed darker than it should have been. Even though the sun was bright, very little light reached the ground beneath the trees.

Lena lifted her camera and took a picture.

Click.

"I can't believe we're finally doing this," she said excitedly.

Kareem unfolded the old map again. The paper was worn and fragile, its edges almost tearing apart.

At the center of the map was a small marking.

A symbol.

That symbol was the reason they were here.

An ancient ruin lost deep inside the jungle.

Some people believed it contained treasure.

Others believed it should never be found.

Kareem folded the map carefully.

"We move now," he said.

Marcus nodded and stepped forward, cutting through the thick vines blocking the entrance.

The moment they entered the jungle, everything changed.

The air became heavy and humid. Strange sounds echoed in the distance. The bright sunlight disappeared behind layers of leaves and branches.

Daniel checked his device.

"GPS is still working," he said confidently.

But Marcus frowned.

"Don't rely on that too much," he warned.

They walked deeper into the forest.

Minutes passed.

Then an hour.

The deeper they went, the quieter the jungle became.

Too quiet.

No birds.

No insects.

Just silence.

Lena stopped walking.

"Do you hear that?" she whispered.

Everyone froze.

"What?" Daniel asked.

"That's the problem," Lena said softly.

"There's nothing."

Kareem slowly turned around, scanning the trees.

Something didn't feel right.

Marcus suddenly knelt down near the ground.

"What is it?" Kareem asked.

Marcus pointed to the dirt.

Footprints.

Fresh ones.

But they didn't belong to any animal.

They were human.

Daniel frowned.

"That's impossible. No one comes into this jungle."

Marcus looked deeper into the forest.

"They're not just footprints," he said quietly.

He pointed again.

More prints.

Dozens of them.

And they were all heading in the same direction.

Toward the ruins.

Kareem felt a chill run down his spine.

That meant one thing.

They were not the first people searching for the ruins.

But then Marcus noticed something else.

The footprints suddenly stopped.

Right in the middle of the path.

As if the people who made them had simply…

Vanished.

Lena slowly lowered her camera.

"Guys…" she whispered.

"What if they didn't leave?"

At that exact moment…

A branch snapped somewhere deep in the jungle behind them.

And someone or something was watching.
