Aarohi was now ten years old. The most brilliant student in school. She focused on studies, but sometimes she asked questions—
"Mom, how could you see the future?"
Anvesha said, "It was a special gift from Allah. Not as strong as before now. But sometimes I still see things."
Aarohi thought. "Will I have it too?"
Anvesha smiled softly. "I don't know. But if you do, you won't be scared, right?"
Aarohi said firmly, "No. Just like Mom wasn't scared, I won't be scared either."
Ayaan was listening from behind. He said, "My daughter is as brave as me."
Anvesha said, "I'm brave too."
"You're brave in a different way." Ayaan came and stood beside Anvesha. "You saw the future but didn't stay silent—you fought. That's great courage."
Aarohi laughed. "I'll be like both Mom and Dad."
---
Today Ayaan's business was receiving an award. A big event. Anvesha was dressed up. Aarohi was also dressed up. Those two lockets around her neck.
Arnab came and said, "Sister-in-law, you look very beautiful today."
Anvesha felt shy. "You're always flattering now."
"I'm telling the truth. What does brother say?"
Ayaan came. Looking at Anvesha, he said, "Beautiful indeed. But to me, she's always beautiful."
Aarohi laughed. "Dad loves Mom very much."
Everyone laughed.
---
Many people at the event. Ayaan went to the stage and received the award. Anvesha stood beside him. Aarohi in front of them. Below sat Arnab, Shanta Devi, Nandini, Riya.
Ayaan said, "I want to dedicate this award to my wife. Who changed my life. And to my daughter. For whom I try to become a better person every day."
Tears in Anvesha's eyes. Aarohi held her mother's hand.
After the event, everyone was returning home. Aarohi had fallen asleep in the car. Anvesha was stroking her head.
Ayaan said, "Anvesha."
"Hmm?"
"Can I ask you something?"
"Ask."
"Do you ever regret that our marriage started with a contract?"
Anvesha remained silent for a while. Then said, "I used to, at first. I thought—I was just a contract. But later I understood, fate brought me to the right place. To you. To Aarohi. To this family."
Ayaan held Anvesha's hand. "I never imagined either—that a contract marriage would turn into love."
Anvesha looked out the window. The night sky. The moon had risen. She remembered that night—the day she first saw her vision. Divorce. That vision never came true. Because love had made fate surrender.
"Ayaan," Anvesha said, "I feel—the future can be seen, but it can also be changed. And that becomes possible through love."
Ayaan smiled softly. "Then we've proven it. Fate can be changed."
Aarohi mumbled in her sleep, "Mom... Dad... love you..."
Both looked at their daughter and smiled. The car moved. The moon smiled. And their love story continued. Into a new generation. Anew.
