To Vivienne Ross, the idea of following a hot catgirl into a street full of prostitutes sounded like the premise of a daydream she'd have in her office.
To Katarina Montecardi, that was just her present situation.
Tavia led her down a path composed of brick and silk. Flowing banners hung from various buildings as a bunch of elegantly nude people walked by. For a second, Katarina felt like she was back in Vellasera.
"You seem less shocked than I thought you'd be," Tavia said.
"Oh, a little bit of skin is hardly enough to shake me, given where I grew up. None of these people are even having sex."
"I suppose they save that bit for when they're inside."
"Back in my town, no one bothered."
"Sounds like a fun place."
They entered a building with a somewhat basic but still appealing design on the window of a woman lying on her side. Immediately, the scent of flowers and perfume punched Katarina's nostrils. Then, a different feeling hit her.
