Chapter 17 - ARC 3.7 :- CONSEQUENCES & REALISATION

PART 19 :-

CONVERSATION BETWEEN LEGENDS

[In the shadows outside the market, Sagurd and Chiron meet.]

"Took you long enough…"

"Just shut up. I don't have the power to teleport."

"Oh? Don't be jealous, Sagurd. But I do love the way you sent them to the market."

"Don't laugh. You suddenly told me to do that—I couldn't come up with a better idea."

"You're recognized as a legend, and you couldn't come up with a better plan? I mean, you could've just told him, 'If you go there, you'll get your answers.'"

"Sorry I don't have brain cells like you. But at least I'm not a joker like you—your own students call you 'Juha.'"

"Still better than being insulted by your own disciple… ha ha."

"Now tell me—why did you call me here, and why did you want me to send them to the market?"

"This morning, I had a new vision. I saw a child with cursed power being consumed by a dark aura."

"What?! Is that Bright? But you haven't had a vision for months—that's not normal."

"It's not him. I remember he mentioned another cursed boy in his class. There's a chance the aura has taken hold of him. But…"

"But what?"

"After realizing that, I looked into his past, present, and future. I saw why the dark aura was able to take him so easily… but the man who gave him that power—he never appeared in my vision."

"That's never happened before. We have to stop him before he loses himself."

"That's the thing—I saw those kids fighting against him together."

"No, no, no… don't tell me—you want to measure their power? They're just kids. They don't even know how to use aura properly yet."

"Just watch. You'll be surprised in the end."

[After the fight starts.]

"He's improving very fast. And his girlfriend is good too—you'd expect that from a princess."

"She's not his girlfriend."

"Oh, come on. I may not live like you, but I'm still an adult."

"He told me that. Even I was surprised."

"There—the boys are coming…"

"I have to admit, your student has a great IQ."

"Bond may just be a kid now, but if he chooses the right path, he could surpass me in the future."

"What's the name of that guy with Bond again?"

"Dex…"

"Oh—Dex, yeah, yeah. Do you know him?"

"No. Why are you asking that?"

"We'll talk about that later."

"The guards are just watching them… they only care about profit."

"I'm quite impressed by them—especially that girl. Her last attack was really powerful."

"What's happening?! How does a kid know 'Living Prison'? We have to interfere."

"Stop… wait for the surprise. It's not over yet."

[After Bright uses Azuron.]

"What?! Did you know this from the beginning? He has a MythosCore! I already realized his curse wasn't normal—it's CursedDivinity—but how does he possess a Mythos Core as well?"

"Because he also has the EclipseBoon."

"He has both a curse and a gift?!"

"Don't look at me like that. When I first realized it, I was surprised too. What he has… it's a once-in-a-generation phenomenon. I knew the previous wielder of Azuron, so it's shocking. It should have after hundreds of years, someone worthy has finally appeared again. But he shows up with that power which is beyond expectations."

"So you're saying he was born with it?"

"Yes."

"To think his soul was already valuable before… but now it's even more elevated. If others realize this, he could be in great danger."

"The fight is over. Now these morons are coming. It's time to interfere."

......….

*[ Cursed Divinity :- Greater than normal curse, it's possess more power than any other normal curse but it comes with great cost and sacrifice. ]

*[ Eclipse Boon :- it's greater than a normal gift. Nobody born with it. You have to earn it. How Bright have that is a mystery. ]

*[ Ascended :- the more valuable than before. The most important thing in the world. ]

PART 20 :-

CONSEQUENCES OF GREAT POWER

Bond perspective :-

[Bright loses consciousness, and the Night Watchers arrive to capture Erebus. At that moment, Chiron and Sagurd intervene.]

"I hope all of you are okay," Sagurd said.

"Yeah, but Bright has lost consciousness…"

"We know. It's because he used Azuron without mastering it," he continued. "That power healed all of you, didn't it?"

"Those blue flames… yeah. Somehow, I don't feel any pain anymore."

All the Night Watchers knelt and showed their respect to Sagurd. Why are they doing that? He told us he was a retired Faris—maybe he's something more than that.

"I deeply apologize for not recognizing you earlier, sir. May I ask why you are here?"

"Jimi, it's been a while. But I'm not in the mood for any conversation right now."

"But sir, the crime that kid committed—it would be better if he were taken to jail. Otherwise, we may face problems."

"That's your problem, not ours. And if you're talking about crime, can you tell me why the guards watched but didn't step in?"

"I deeply apologize for what they did. After hearing about the situation, I rushed here immediately."

"Leave him, Sagurd. We have more important matters now," Chiron interrupted their conversation.

"Are you the God Slayer, sir?"

"People call me that as well. Go to your boss and tell Jack that I'll have a conversation with him later."

[The Night Watchers leave the place.]

"Hey, Chiron, why don't you heal him like you did last time during the test?"

Dex brought up a good point—I didn't even think of that.

"Well, listen carefully. When a person uses a Mythos Core, it doesn't just consume a large amount of Aura—it also damages the user's internal organs, even their soul. His body and soul have both been affected. He needs proper treatment and rest."

"What should we do then?"

"Take him to a doctor. And don't tell anyone what happened here or what power Bright has. It's better for him if no one knows."

"Hey, Dex, help me. We have to take him to the academy hospital."

"Do you really think they'll treat him properly? I've been there more than ten times, and they always ignore us."

"Take him to my house."

"But we're commoners, and he's cursed. Your parents will never agree to that."

"I am the princess. He saved my life. If my family hears this, they will treat him properly."

"Don't waste time—just go," Sagurd told us.

At that moment, Chiron turned to Erebus.

"What's your name, kid?"

"Erebus."

"I saw your past. It's tough for a child to go through that. But you should be grateful—you have a good brother and had a loving mother. There are people who have neither, and their lives are like hell, yet they still don't choose darkness. It's not the solution."

"Can I ask you something?"

He paused, then asked, "How did you get that dark Aura?"

"When I was in the forest, a man wearing a mask came and gave me something. When I touched it, something dark came out of it and grabbed me. After that, I don't remember anything."

"Because of your mental state, the dark Aura took over you instantly. But it failed to fully control you. I'm glad you're okay."

"You're his brother. Take him to a hospital, and don't mention anything about this. Take good care of him. After all, he's going to be a warrior in the future."

We left the place with Bright.

......….

Sagurd perspective :-

"You're not going with them? He's your student, after all—and I feel like you care about him."

"I'll see him later. I need to tell you something first."

"Is it about Dex?"

"He's her son. I confirmed it when I went to the Joyful. I spoke with that moron as well—he told me Dex is the son of Violet and Bridge."

I grabbed his collar.

"You knew this the whole time and you're only telling me now?"

"I knew you'd be angry. But don't overthink it—it all happened a long time ago."

"Why are you telling me this?"

"Because I know how much she meant to you. And that boy needs someone who cares for him—just like Bright and Bond."

"She betrayed me. She went against my words—and you think I'll take care of her child?"

"Then why are you still running that shop? It's up to you. I just thought you should know. I'm leaving now—it might be better if you reconsider my words."

He left the place. No matter how hard I try, my past always comes back to me.

PART 21 :-

REALISATION AND TAKING VOW

Minidra perspective :-

[In the Hall of Scribes.]

"Whoa, my lady—I was so worried. You're very late. I thought something had happened to you. Wait… who are they? What happened to the boy?"

"We can talk about that later. Bright needs immediate treatment. His internal organs are damaged."

"How did that happen? Nelly, take him to the guest room—and call Doctor Max. I need to inform your parents."

[In a room where Bright lies unconscious. Everyone is present as the doctor examines him.]

"He's lost a lot of qi and Aura. Many of his internal organs are damaged, but the good news is that they're healing on their own. I'll prescribe some medicine considering the extent of the damage. His energy should return in a few days. Until then, I don't think he'll regain consciousness."

The doctor said this, and we all felt relieved.

"Thank you, Max, for your help at this hour."

"No problem—anything for you. By the way, who is he?"

"We'll talk about that later."

"Alright. For now, I'll take my leave."

[The doctor leaves.]

"Can you boys tell me your names?"

"My name is Bond, and he's Dex."

"How did you meet my lady?"

"Sagurd sent us to deliver something to the market. After we finished, we saw our teammates fighting a monster, so we joined them."

"Sagurd? You mean the man who runs the shop?"

"Yeah."

"Why did he send you on a delivery?"

"He punished me for being disrespectful toward him. I'm his student, and he needed one more person. Dex was there, so he dragged him along."

"Don't lie to me at such a young age. Sagurd never teaches anyone. I won't tell anyone—you can tell me what really happened."

"Just because I've never taught anyone before doesn't mean I never will. And I hate teaching."

That man appeared again—I didn't even realize how he got there.

"Sagurd, why are you here?"

"It's been a while, Iras. The boy is telling you the truth. I'll talk to you later. I think you've forgotten something."

"Oh… my lady, you need to speak with your parents. They want to see you now."

"But I can't leave him here alone."

"Don't worry—we're here. I think it's important," Dex said.

"Come, my lady. You don't have to worry—I'll be with you."

I left with Iras.

......….

Bond perspective :-

"How do you feel right now?"

"How do you think I feel? My friend is unconscious—I don't even know when he'll wake up. The one who always protected me… I couldn't save him. I couldn't even help stop that thing."

"One loss makes you this angry? What will you do in the future when you face enemies a hundred times stronger?"

"I felt so useless—unable to do anything, just watching and hoping for a win. It's so frustrating."

"What do you want now?"

"Please… make me stronger. I don't want to watch my friend die in front of me while I just stand there, unable to do anything."

Tears filled my eyes. I couldn't stop them. Is this what it feels like to fear losing someone? I couldn't control my emotions.

"You should be glad you didn't lose him. The path you're asking for is far more painful and darker than you think."

......….

Dex perspective :-

"And you—where did you learn all that?"

Is he asking me??? "What?"

"I saw your fighting style. You can copy your opponent's moves easily. You can even transfer Aura."

"I don't have anyone to teach me. I just watch my opponents and use their moves against them. I've been trying to master Aura for about a month now—since before the shaman told us about it."

"Without a master, you've reached this level? Who is your guardian?"

"I don't have anyone." I am all alone, neither have a friend nor parents.

"Then how about I teach you? From now on, you'll be under my guidance."

Is he trying to show sympathy towards me???

"Why?! I know you're not a normal person—so why choose someone like me?"

"I saw the emptiness inside you. A boy your age shouldn't have to carry that. You need guidance—and I will be the one to guide you."

How he able to sence that??

"You both look tired. You can sleep here. No one will say anything. Stay with your friend."

Friend…? Am I really Bright's friend? After what I did to him in the past, I don't think that's acceptable.

Bond collapsed beside me—I guess he's exhausted too.
