Chapter 96 - Chapter 96: The Prepared Hidden Sand Village Ninjas

Everyone stared at Isamu with wide eyes.

Making jokes at a time like this? Was he insane?

"Hmph. Look at your subordinates' expressions—even they don't believe you. Do you really think I would?" Hata Saemon snorted coldly.

"They'll believe me unconditionally. As for what I'm about to say… I'm only worried you won't believe it," Isamu replied, tossing the little tour flag aside as his expression turned serious.

"Whether I believe you depends on what you say next—and whether you mean it," Hata Saemon said calmly, arms crossed. "If it's the truth, I'll believe it. If it's nonsense, then there's no point in you speaking."

"Then listen carefully."

"I am officially notifying your Hidden Sand Village: one month from now, at the northern border of the Land of Fire, I, Isamu, will lead my clan to wage war against the Four Great Nations—Wind, Earth, Water, and Lightning."

"The other three have already accepted. Only your Land of Wind remains. Do you dare accept my declaration of war?"

Silence fell.

Before Hata Saemon could respond, Rasa stepped forward.

"You arrogant brat! Do you really think a title like 'Asura' lets you challenge the Four Great Nations? You're nothing but a madman."

They had all heard of Isamu's reputation—but no one believed he could truly go this far.

Chiyo and the others were about to speak, but Hata Saemon raised a hand.

"Enough. No one else speaks."

He fixed his gaze on Isamu.

"Are you serious? A war against the Four Great Nations? And what about the Land of Fire? As far as I know, the Uchiha belong to Konoha."

"Lord Kazekage, you actually believe him?" Chiyo asked, shocked.

"Hush."

Hata Saemon didn't take his eyes off Isamu.

"Answer me."

---

"Hahaha… as expected of the Third Kazekage."

"Your perspective really is broader than the other Kage."

"Let me make this clear—this war is no joke."

"The Uchiha belong to no one. We belong only to ourselves."

"As for Konoha… I haven't declared war on them. But if they interfere, I won't show mercy."

A chilling killing intent radiated from Isamu.

This time, Hata Saemon believed him completely.

"I understand now," he said slowly. "But I still don't understand one thing. You already carry the title of 'Asura.' Why go this far? Where does your confidence come from?"

"Heh… what's a title worth?"

"I want to become the God of Shinobi."

"I will become the nightmare of your nations—and make the name Uchiha shine across this world once again."

"As for my confidence…"

Isamu grinned.

"Want to test it?"

---

"No need."

Hata Saemon shook his head.

"The fact that the other nations acknowledged you is enough proof."

"If I tested you now, I'd look like a fool."

"Today, I'll give you a chance. If your subordinates can escape that quicksand on their own… you may leave."

"Lord Kazekage!" Chiyo stepped forward immediately. "They're trapped and outnumbered—this is our chance to eliminate them and possibly stop the war before it begins!"

Ebizo and the others nodded in agreement.

"I understand," Hata Saemon replied calmly. "But if he truly intends to challenge the Four Great Nations, he shouldn't be stopped by something this trivial."

He looked at Isamu.

"Quicksand alone shouldn't be enough to trouble you… right?"

---

"Heh… 'escape and we'll let you leave'? That sounds pretty arrogant."

"We don't need your permission to leave."

"If we don't show you something, you'll keep underestimating us, won't you?"

"Fine. Today, we'll slap that arrogance right off your faces."

He raised his hand.

"Brothers—show them what you've got."

"Don't disappoint me."

---

A surge of chakra erupted.

The nine trapped Uchiha suddenly stiffened as a burning sensation spread through their bodies.

"ROAR!!"

In an instant, all nine entered Tailed Beast Chakra Mode.

With explosive force, they launched themselves out of the quicksand, blasting into the air.

"Hmm… brute force to break free… impressive," Hata Saemon muttered.

"Not good—defend!" he shouted.

A massive wall of Iron Sand rose instantly, while the others activated defensive jutsu.

Above them, the nine Uchiha had already begun gathering energy.

"Heh… Tailed Beast Ball barrage. Let's see how long they can keep looking down on us," Isamu said coldly.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

The attacks rained down.

"Boom!"

One Tailed Beast Ball shattered the defenses on impact.

"Scatter!" someone shouted.

Explosions tore across the battlefield.

Sand filled the air as blast after blast detonated.

---

Isamu watched closely… and frowned.

"So many hits… and only a few casualties?"

These weren't ordinary ninja.

They were elite Jonin—the best of the Hidden Sand.

They couldn't tank the attacks—but their experience let them dodge most of the damage.

The nine Uchiha landed beside him.

"Isamu, these guys are tough," Zhan said. "If this keeps up, it won't end well for us. Should we fall back for now?"

"Retreat?"

Isamu looked at him like he'd just said something stupid.

"Why would we retreat?"

"You think I didn't notice they're elites?"

"I want elites."

"What's the point of bullying Genin?"

He rolled his eyes.

"You—stop standing around watching. Get into position."
