They way my words come out is difficult to explain but we are gonna try!
So essentially the plot and genre is like this…
•The genre I'm going for I feel is geared more towards women but it's feels more psychological than fantasy (but I do want fantasy world aspects)
•The MC is a female age tbd (she is older probably early 30s). She has no empathy or emotions she is assaulted leading to pregnancy and she has like flashblacks to her childhood where she would "test her siblings to see if they would live or die kinda scenarios.
• She has two siblings, sister and brother the brother is the youngest (ages still tbd) she pushed her sister down the stairs but claims it was an accident but she watches as the sister holds her arm to her chest crying in pain. Until the mother comes and she explains that she barely bumped her, the mom is angry but not at her more at the situation that she has to take the daughter to the doctor.
•Another instance is the younger brother at the store she takes him across the store and leaves him alone.
•The idea is that she wants to know if they survive or not. Will the sister speak out or not, will the brother get taken or will he come back. It's like she wants to play games that involve death (play May not be the right word)
•Anyways as we move on after she gave birth to twins she does the bare minimum. Playing psychological games for own amusement like will the children fight for food if left without or if the bottle is left at a distance. She does this until she feels like she has done her part and then sells them in an underground auction.
(The reason this is listed as fantasy is because I want this to be in world where our societal laws don't impact. Like it's fine for the people in slums to steal or kill or for a mother to auction her children off if she wanted.)
•After they are sold she wants to keep track of them to watch what happens to them. She wants to see if they survive or die the people who purchased them. Are they going to be pampered as some rich nobles child, or are they going to be kept in a cage and used as a science experiment to a doctor needing test subjects.
•The issue I'm having is building the story around the central plots like the core ideas above, I feel are solid, but it's the story building that makes the story feel authentic is severely lacking.
•Does this idea have any merit could it be something great?
