Chapter 12 - The Merchant’s Challenge

The Merchant Guild was a massive building, bustling with wealthy traders and powerful warriors. As Dayal walked in, his simple clothes drew some judgmental looks, but he didn't care. He had the God-Level Luck System on his side.

"So, you are the one they call the 'Ghost Smith'?"

A tall man with a gold-trimmed robe stood before Dayal. This was Guild Master Varun. He looked at Dayal with skepticism. "I hear you can turn scrap into treasures. Prove it, and I will give you a contract that will change your life. Fail, and you leave my city forever."

Varun pointed to a rusted, broken dagger on a velvet cushion. "This was a hero's blade, now it's just junk. Can you fix it?"

Dayal stepped forward. To others, it was trash. But to his eyes, a blue interface appeared:

[Item: Rusted Dragon-Tooth Dagger]

[Condition: 5% Durability]

[Enhancement Chance: 85% (Luck Multiplier Applied)]

"System, initiate Divine Restoration," Dayal whispered.

A soft, golden glow emanated from his palms. The crowd gasped. The rust began to flake off like dead skin, revealing a gleaming, sharp edge that pulsed with a faint red light.

[Ding! Enhancement Successful!]

[Rusted Dagger → Inferno Dragon Dagger (Grade 2)]

[Luck Bonus Triggered: Added Fire Damage Attribute!]

The entire room went silent. The heat coming from the blade was undeniable. Guild Master Varun's eyes widened in shock. He had never seen such speed, such perfection.

"Impossible..." Varun stammered, reaching for the blade. "This is better than it was when it was new!"

Dayal pulled the dagger back slightly, a calm smile on his face. "Now, about that contract, Guild Master. I believe my price just went up."

But as the deal was being struck, a dark shadow watched from the balcony above. A rival blacksmith was gritting his teeth in rage. Dayal had made a powerful ally today, but he had also created his first true enemy.
