Chapter 231 - Chapter 231: Nanny Hisoka, Entering the Game

Leo stepped off the platform, and Dean was already waiting by the roadside. Seeing Leo emerge, he quickly walked forward.

"Boss, Battera's assets have been handed over and processed; they've all been transferred to your name."

He paused, his tone carrying a hint of emotion.

"Battera asked me to tell you that he's given you the remaining third as well. This was a joint decision between him and Elena. He is very grateful for your help."

Leo's brow twitched slightly.

He hadn't expected Battera to go this far.

Numerically, there was a huge gap between two-thirds and the whole, but in terms of intent, the latter meant total lack of reservation.

He truly admired this old fellow.

Not everyone has the courage to give away a lifetime of savings to someone else, and even fewer have such broad-mindedness.

"Mm, understood. Let's head back."

The two got into the car, and the motorcade slowly pulled out of the station square, merging into the flow of traffic.

A day later, the two returned to Tote City.

The afternoon sunlight spilled through the floor-to-ceiling windows into the second-floor meeting room of Colton Manor. Leo sat at the head of the table.

In front of him sat a game console—one of the five game consoles Battera had won at auction. Leo had specifically kept it, intending to play it himself.

Two days ago, he had already called Sophia and the others to ask if they were interested in playing a game.

On the phone, he had briefly introduced Greed Island—a game that only Nen Users could enter, involving card collection, spell usage, and island exploration.

As it turned out, only Kastro, Goreinu, and Nico were interested.

Ashir, Kalluto, Sophia, and Shizuku were completely uninterested; they preferred hunting down wanted criminals, which was far more exciting than playing a game.

At this moment, Kastro, Goreinu, and Nico were already seated in the meeting room, waiting for Leo's further explanation.

Kastro sat up straight, Goreinu leaned back in his chair, and Nico had his laptop open in front of him.

Leo began to explain in detail.

"Greed Island was developed by a team consisting of Ging Freecss and eleven other Nen Users. This game is restricted to Nen Users using specialized equipment to enter. Players collect one hundred designated cards on a real island, store item cards through the 'BOOK' System, and restore them to physical items using the 'GAIN' spell."

He paused, his gaze sweeping over the three.

"That's right, Greed Island is a real, existing island. However, this island isn't on any world map, and it cannot be reached by conventional means."

Goreinu stopped spinning his pen, his brow furrowing slightly.

"A real island? Doesn't that mean..."

"Yes."

Leo nodded.

"Once you enter, your physical body follows you to that island. It's not a projection of consciousness or virtual reality; your entire person goes in. Therefore, if you die in the game, you die in reality."

The air in the meeting room froze for a moment.

Kastro's expression didn't change at all, Goreinu's fingers tapped twice on the table, and Nico paused for a second before continuing to type on his keyboard.

Leo continued.

"The condition for clearing the game is to place one hundred cards into the designated numbered slots of the card collection book. Players can use two types of magic: 'BOOK' and 'GAIN'. All items obtained in the game can be turned into cards. When you get an item, you simply hold it in your hand, and it will automatically become a card. If you want to use a card, you just hold it and say 'GAIN', and the card will automatically turn back into the corresponding item."

He picked up a memory card and a ring from the table, turning them over in his hand.

"But there are a few points to note. First, once an item's card state is canceled with 'GAIN', it can never be turned back into a card. To get that card again, you must obtain the item once more. Second, if an item reaches its card transformation limit, it can no longer be turned into a card. For example, if an item's limit is three, then at most only three cards of that item can exist at once; there cannot be more. Third, if a card is not placed in the book for one minute, it will automatically revert to an item and can never be turned into a card again."

Nico recorded everything rapidly.

"Furthermore."

Leo's tone became even more serious.

"If a player dies in the game, all information in the book and the ring will disappear. Additionally, if you leave the game for ten days without returning, all cards will vanish. And the reward for clearing the game—is choosing three designated pocket cards to bring back to the real world for use."

Goreinu whistled.

"Three? Doesn't sound like much."

"But it's enough."

Leo said.

"Among those cards are ones that can grant immortality, cure all diseases, or summon anything—as long as you can get your hands on them."

Kastro spoke up, his voice steady.

"Master Leo, that Ging Freecss you mentioned, is he Gon's father?"

Leo nodded.

"Yes. So this game was prepared by Ging for Gon."

Kastro didn't ask further, simply nodding.

Goreinu stretched, an excited smile appearing on his face.

"Sounds interesting, I'm in."

Nico also nodded.

"I'll join too; it'll be good to go in and take a look."

Leo took out several pieces of equipment—a storage memory card and a ring. He distributed the gear to the three of them, then pointed to the game console on the table.

"You guys head in first, don't wait for me. I'll enter a bit later."

The three nodded, each picking up a memory card, inserting it into the console's slot, and putting on the ring.

They stood side-by-side in front of the console and activated their Nen simultaneously.

In the next instant, the three vanished from before Leo.

Only Leo remained in the meeting room.

He walked over to the console and looked down at the device, which was still running.

The screen displayed the words: "Logged-in Players: 3."

He carefully sensed the console's activity—there were no fluctuations of Nen, no energy reactions; everything was as calm as an ordinary old-fashioned game console.

"Truly interesting."

He murmured.

"This thing isn't just driven by Nen."

He had one more thing to do.

To clear the game, the hurdle that was Razor had to be passed.

The condition to challenge Razor was to form a fifteen-person squad and head to Soufrabi; the quest wouldn't trigger if even one person was missing.

That was why he would continue holding the G.I Selection Trials to make up the numbers.

To clear the game, he also needed a free nanny.

Leo thought for a moment, pulled out his phone, and scrolled to Hisoka's number.

He pressed the call button.

It rang for a second before the call was picked up.

"Mm-hmm~♦"

Hisoka's voice came through the receiver.

"Is there something you need from me?"

Leo skipped the pleasantries and asked directly.

"Are you free?"

Hisoka's laughter came through, a few degrees more pleasant than before.

"If you're looking for me, then of course I'm free~♦"

"Then that's fine. I'm looking for you to play a game."

Leo's tone was flat.

"There's a very strong person in the game who can satisfy your desire for battle. If you're interested, come find me in Tote City. That's all."

Having said that, he hung up the phone immediately, giving Hisoka no time to react.

He knew Hisoka all too well.

What this pervert loved most were unknown powerhouses and thrilling battles.

If he beat around the bush, Hisoka would instead seize the initiative, asking this and that and haggling.

It was better to just throw out the bait and let him bite the hook himself.

On the other end of the line, Hisoka listened to the dial tone from his phone, stunned in place.

He opened his mouth, but the call had already ended.

His expression went from expectation to blankness, and from blankness to resentment.

"Hmph—♦"

He drew out the sound, his golden pupils full of complexity.

"He didn't give me a chance to speak at all..."

He sighed, spun the phone between his fingers twice, and then tucked it into his pocket.

He stood up, walked to the window, and looked at the scenery outside.

"A very strong person... can satisfy the desire for battle..."

He whispered Leo's words, his lips slowly splitting into a delightful smile.

"Honestly... every time, you make it impossible to refuse~♦"

He turned and walked toward the door.

Although Leo's attitude made him a bit unhappy, he knew that man wouldn't lie to him.

If he said there was a powerhouse, there would definitely be a powerhouse.

If he said it was interesting, it would definitely be interesting.

Hisoka stood by the roadside, hailed a taxi, and headed toward the airport.
