Chapter 194 - Chapter 195: Not a Wasted Trip, A Massive Haul

The top floor was in ruins.

Broken glass was scattered everywhere, and the air was filled with a faint scent of blood.

Leo stood beside Blake's corpse, shifting his gaze from the twisted figure toward a metal door deep within the room.

The door was embedded in the wall, blending seamlessly with it.

There was no handle on the door, only a numeric keypad.

He walked to the door, crouched down, and entered the password Blake had just revealed.

The keypad emitted a faint "beep" sound; with every press, the indicator light flashed.

The twelve-digit code was entered.

He pressed the confirmation key.

"Click."

The sound of the lock popping open was crisp and clean.

The heavy metal door slowly swung inward, revealing a spacious area behind it.

Leo had considered the possibility that Blake might have given him a fake password.

Even in such a desperate situation, that old fox was capable of playing tricks.

But the door had opened.

It seemed his desire to survive was indeed extremely high—high enough that he dared not deceive at the very last moment.

Unfortunately, he had crossed Leo's bottom line, and there was no way he could survive.

He stepped into the vault.

The space inside was much larger than he had imagined, measuring over one hundred square meters.

It was temperature- and humidity-controlled, with soft lighting and thick carpeting on the floor.

The shelves all around were filled with items—gold, neatly stacked gold bars piled in rows, glowing with a warm luster under the lights.

Leo casually picked one up and flipped it over to check the bottom, where the minting date and weight were engraved.

He put the gold bar back and turned to look at the other side.

Jewelry occupied a glass cabinet that spanned an entire wall.

Diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds, necklaces, rings, earrings, brooches—every piece was exquisitely crafted, refracting brilliant light under the spotlights.

Antique paintings hung on the wall on the other side.

Leo glanced at them; he didn't recognize a single one, but he knew very well that every piece allowed in here was worth a fortune.

He walked over and lightly brushed his fingers over the frames.

Most of these paintings were well-preserved, with auction house labels attached to the frames, dating back several decades.

Blake had clearly spent a significant amount of time and money collecting these items.

In the cabinet nearby, stacks of documents and files were neatly arranged.

Leo pulled one out and opened it—it was a land deed.

Another was proof of company equity, followed by trust fund documents and some complex financial papers he couldn't understand.

These were proofs of assets that Blake had accumulated over decades, each representing a massive fortune.

He put the documents back and continued walking deeper inside.

At the very back of the vault, against the wall, stood an independent display case.

The glass surface was spotless, and spotlights shone down from above, illuminating everything inside the case in sharp detail.

Three items were displayed side by side.

Leo stopped, his gaze landing on those three items, his eyebrows twitching slightly.

The first one on the left—a pair of eyeballs.

They were submerged in a transparent liquid, suspended within an exquisite glass container.

The eyeballs were a deep red—not an ordinary red, but a crimson that was almost burning, intense to the extreme.

Even in the still liquid, the pair of eyeballs seemed to glow, as if the final embers of life still remained within them.

Scarlet Eyes.

Leo certainly recognized them.

These were unique organs of the Kurta Clan; when members of the clan became emotionally agitated, their pupils would turn red.

Because they were too beautiful and too rare, they had become targets chased by collectors.

And precisely because of this, the Kurta Clan had suffered a catastrophic disaster.

He hadn't expected Blake to have collected a pair as well.

This old thing had quite peculiar hobbies.

Leo moved his gaze away from the Scarlet Eyes and landed on the middle item.

A crystal skull.

The skull was roughly the size of a real human skull, made entirely of a crystal-clear quartz crystal, with a pure color and without a single trace of Impurities.

Every rise and fall of the bone structure, every direction of the cranial sutures, looked lifelike.

The spotlight's light pierced through the crystal, refracting countless tiny rainbows inside, which scattered onto the dark velvet cloth surrounding it.

He looked down at the information placard below the display case.

"Crystal Skull—one of the Seven Great Beauties. A special type of quartz crystal that emits a dreamlike luster even in a pitch-black environment. Legend has it that this skull was a sacred object used by an ancient civilization for sacrificial rituals. The number existing in the world is extremely rare, and every piece is worth a fortune."

Leo nodded slightly.

Another one of the Seven Great Beauties; this was his first time seeing one.

He looked at the third item on the right.

A feather.

The feather was about the length of an adult's forearm, pitch-black throughout, a pure black.

But magically, under the light of the spotlights, the surface of the feather would refract iridescent, multi-colored light, like an oil film or an aurora.

The halo shifted with the angle of observation, sometimes blue-purple, sometimes gold-green, looking so beautiful it didn't seem real.

The placard read: "Black Feather—one of the Seven Great Beauties. It comes from a very rare species of crow Demonic Beast. This Demonic Beast will only grow one such feather on its entire body. Legend has it that this feather contains the entire life essence of the Demonic Beast and can ward off evil and avoid disaster; the wearer will never encounter misfortune."

Leo smiled slightly; these were all good things.

He hadn't come in vain today.

He turned to look at the entire vault, his gaze sweeping over the gold, jewelry, paintings, and documents, finally landing back on those three Seven Great Beauties.

"Pack everything up and take it away."

He took out his phone and dialed Ashir's number.

"Hello?"

"Ashir, bring a team over. There are things to move."

"Understood."

He placed a teleportation medium down and stepped back two paces.

A few seconds later, a pale blue light screen unfolded in the center of the vault.

Ashir walked out from the light door, followed by over a dozen members of the Colton Gang.

They brought toolboxes, carts, foam boxes, and packing Materials; one look and you could tell they were professionals at this.

The leading gang thug walked up to Leo and bowed respectfully.

"Mr. Leo, please give your orders."

Leo raised his hand and pointed at the things filling the room.

"Move everything here away. Leave nothing behind."

That person glanced at the scale of the vault and, without the slightest hesitation, nodded in response.

"Understood!"

With a wave of his hand, the dozen or so people immediately dispersed and began moving things in an orderly fashion.

Some were responsible for the gold, some for the jewelry, some for the paintings, and some for the documents; the division of labor was clear, and their movements were swift.

Gold was stacked bar by bar into specially made boxes; jewelry was carefully removed, wrapped, and boxed; paintings were taken down whole; and documents were sorted into folders and labeled.

Ashir walked to Leo's side and looked at him.

"Kastro requested two hundred men for support. It seems things are a bit tricky on their end; should we go help?"

Leo shook his head.

"No need. They need to grow; I can't step in and solve their troubles every single time."

He paused, his gaze landing on the people who were busy at work.

"I will only step in when they can't solve it themselves and come to ask me."

Ashir nodded and said nothing more.

Half an hour later, the entire vault had been cleaned out.

Gold, jewelry, paintings, documents, and those three Seven Great Beauties were all boxed, packed, and transported away through the light door.

The shelves on the walls were empty, the cabinet doors were left wide open, and pressure marks from the carts remained on the carpet.

The once brilliantly lit vault was now empty, with only a faint, lingering scent remaining in the air.

Leo took one last look at that empty corner—the place where the Scarlet Eyes, the Crystal Skull, and the Black Feather had just been displayed, now leaving behind only a piece of dark red velvet cloth.

He turned around and walked toward the light door.

Ashir followed behind, the last one to pass through the light door.
