Just as Jack was getting Gwen's suit feedback, on the other side Tony Stark, after many sleepless nights, also finished his masterpiece — Project Mark II.
"Jarvis, I did it. I finally did it." Looking at the suit, Tony was very satisfied. With its silver color, it looked really good.
Tony stepped onto the platform and took a deep breath.
"J.A.R.V.I.S., begin suit assembly."
"At once, sir."
Mechanical arms descended from the ceiling as the workshop lights dimmed.
"Boot assembly online."
The armored boots locked around Tony's feet.
"Leg assemblies secured."
Metal plates wrapped around his legs as robotic arms moved with perfect precision.
"Torso assembly complete."
The chest piece locked into place around the arc reactor.
"Right arm secured. Left arm secured."
Tony flexed his fingers as the gauntlets responded instantly.
"Helmet assembly."
The faceplate lowered slowly. Darkness briefly covered his vision. A second later, the heads-up display illuminated.
"All systems online."
Tony looked around as data filled his vision.
"Power levels nominal. Flight stabilizers operational. Repulsor systems active."
Tony smiled inside the helmet. Months of work, sleepless nights, and countless failed prototypes had all led to this moment.
Tony walked toward the testing area.
"Let's see if this thing can fly."
"Reminder, sir. The suit has not yet undergone live flight testing."
"That's what makes it fun."
"That is not the word I would have chosen, sir."
Tony raised his hands.
"Alright, J.A.R.V.I.S., power up the repulsors."
The engines began to glow.
"Repulsors at ten percent."
Tony slowly lifted off the ground.
"Sir, please exercise caution."
Tony grinned inside the helmet.
"Caution is for people who built the wrong suit."
Soon Tony began hovering steadily above the ground, the repulsors humming beneath his feet.
"This is much better than the previous test flight that had me going in circles," he joked.
"Okay, Jarvis, increase."
"Twenty percent... fifty percent..." Jarvis increased the power.
"Okay, I can fly now. Let's go outside."
With that, Tony flew out of his villa and straight into the open night sky.
"Oh yeah! Ohhh YAHOO!"
Tony flew through the night sky above New York. Anyone looking up from the streets below would only see a silver streak blazing across the darkness and probably think they were dreaming.
After flying for a few minutes, he started flying upward.
"Let's see what this thing can do."
"What's the SR-17 record, the altitude record?"
"For fixed-wing flight, it's 85,000 feet, sir," Jarvis replied.
"Records are meant to be broken. Come on."
With that said, he flew higher and higher above the clouds.
"Sir, there is a potentially fatal buildup of ice occurring."
"Keep going."
Tony ignored the warning and continued flying higher.
"Higher."
Soon, the suit became covered in ice. Systems started to malfunction, and the repulsors shut down.
"Ahhh!"
With the repulsors gone, Tony began falling from the sky.
"We iced up, Jarvis! Deploy flaps!"
He instructed Jarvis, but because of the ice, Jarvis had already gone offline.
"Jarvis, come on. We need to break the ice."
With no other option, Tony forced his arms to move and shattered the ice covering the suit, saving himself at the last moment.
Honk! Honk!
Tony's eyes widened as headlights suddenly appeared beneath him.
"Oh, crap!"
With only seconds to react, he pulled the controls hard and shot between the moving cars.
A driver slammed on his brakes.
Screech!
The car barely avoided crashing into another vehicle.
"What the hell was that?!" the middle-aged driver shouted as he quickly stepped out of his car.
Several other drivers also stopped and looked toward the sky.
For a brief moment, they saw a silver figure flying away into the night.
"A man?"
"No way."
"Was that some kind of military aircraft?"
Nobody could understand what they had just seen.
"Oh yeah!" Tony shouted as he regained control of the suit.
Just as the Iron Man suit flew above the New York sky, Red Queen, who had been monitoring the city, spotted the strange flying object. The information was immediately sent to Jack.
"That was quicker than I thought. He built it faster than I expected." Looking at the pictures of the silver Iron Man suit flying above New York that Red Queen had sent, Jack commented.
"So he really built it." Gwen looked at the pictures with some surprise. "He actually made a flying suit from scratch."
"Yes, that's Dad." Morgan looked at the images quietly. "I remember seeing this suit in the collection room."
There was a hint of pride in her voice.
"Seeing Morgan's suit didn't shock me much since she came from the future, but seeing Tony Stark, that famous playboy, actually build this in 2008 is something else." Gwen shook her head.
At this time, smartphones had only just started becoming popular, yet Tony had built a suit that could fly, fight, and keep a person alive in the sky. He really was a genius, no matter what others said, Jack thought.
Morgan smiled slightly as she looked at the pictures.
"Dad always said that if something didn't exist, he would build it himself."
Looking at the silver figure flying through the New York sky, Jack felt a little emotional. When he had first regained his memories, he had been afraid of the future. But in less than four months, he had already changed many things.
And now, the scenes he had only seen in movies were finally about to happen in front of him.
📢 A/N:
Hey guys, hope you are all doing well.
After 125 chapters, Iron Man is finally born. Honestly, even I didn't expect the story to progress this slowly. Looking back, I think some parts moved slower than I originally planned, but don't worry, I'll try to speed things up a little.
As for the future characters and items, I added them mainly so that the MC wouldn't become too overpowered too quickly. The Omnitrix itself is already very powerful, and future technology can create many changes to the timeline.
While writing, I realized there are a lot of things that need to be considered to avoid plot holes and keep the story balanced. Sometimes I rewrite drafts and accidentally forget to mention something because I think I already explained it earlier.
💬 So if you find any plot holes, inconsistencies, or something you don't understand, please feel free to mention it in the comments. Sometimes I miss things while writing.
🙏 Thank you to each and every one of you for your support. It truly means a lot to me.
