Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: This is Called "High Efficiency"!

"Monsters, so many monsters!!"

"What happened?!"

"Holy crap, is this a Goblin grand march?!"

Generally speaking, the deeper the floors in the Dungeon, the larger the area.

Therefore.

As the "beginner zone," the 1st to 4th floors were actually a relatively small area.

This led many novice adventurers to witness an "army" composed of swarms of Goblins, Kobolds, and Dungeon Lizards.

Many adventurers were terrified by this. In particular, some female adventurers were so frightened by the swarming Goblins that they slumped to the ground, seemingly triggering some rather unpleasant associations.

But soon, everyone realized something.

The massive horde of monsters wasn't targeting them at all. Instead, they all frantically rushed in a specific direction.

And then...

"Boom!" A loud explosion rang out.

Accompanied by a violent tremor akin to an earthquake—many veteran adventurers who happened to be passing by wondered if the "Malice of the Dungeon" could appear on the 3rd floor. Could someone have triggered a collapse and fallen to a deeper floor?

As the instigator of it all, El.

At this very moment.

Was humming a little tune, picking up the magic stones scattered all over the ground one by one, and putting them into his cloth bag.

Ah.

Picking up items was so troublesome. It would be great to have a pet with "auto-loot."

Right, the pretty lady who acted as his adventurer advisor mentioned it before.

He could hire a Supporter.

That was actually pretty much the same as an "auto-loot" pet, right?

Hmm...

El was in a simple mood right now. He even had his mechanical assistant deploy the RX-60 Trap Runner again, preparing to repeat his trick.

After all, farming monsters like this was the only way to call it "high efficiency."

However, Lunoire, who was standing to the side, stared at the boy's figure, her entire being plunged into a state of shocked mental crash.

[What exactly happened just now?!]

Lunoire remembered.

As the monsters rushed out from the front and rear passages of the cavern.

The tiny floating sphere beside El emitted a blue light again and said, [Deployment initiated].

Subsequently.

One by one, little guys resembling iron boxes popped out from it.

They were perfectly square, their surfaces gleaming with a metallic luster. They had eyes and noses, and on their backs was a large... wind-up key?

It spun on its own, looking inexplicably somewhat cute.

Hey!

These little things looked quite unique.

She saw them form up in groups as well, moving their short little legs. A small light bulb on their heads flashed intermittently as they pattered toward the monster horde.

Were these things going to fight the monsters?

By headbutting them to death?!!

While Lunoire was thinking this, she only heard El, holding a remote control, press a button, snap his fingers, and utter a word she couldn't understand at all.

"Fire!"

Accompanied by the sound of a violent explosion.

The cute little guys from a moment ago instantly turned into a massive fireball in the blink of an eye, completely swallowing up all the charging monsters.

"Huh?!"

Lunoire was dumbfounded.

Were those little things actually Fire Stones? They suddenly exploded?!

But before Lunoire could think too much, the next wave of monsters was coming again.

Deep within the cavern.

The noisy roars of Goblins and Kobolds echoed once more.

At the same time, El released those iron box-like little guys again.

Here we go again?!

"Miss Lunoire, do you want to try?"

"Eh?!"

"It's a great stress reliever."

El handed the remote control in his hand to the dazed girl.

"Just press this red button in a moment."

After speaking.

El went back to picking up magic stones.

Lunoire looked at the remote control in her hand. Although she had no idea what was going on, but...

Looking at the monsters charging toward them again, the girl finally pressed the detonate button.

Boom!!!

The explosive sound once again made it almost impossible to stand firm.

Amidst the violent explosion, watching the monsters all turn to ash in an instant.

Lunoire seemed to feel a certain... feeling that could be called "pleasure"?

It seems.

It feels kinda good.

"Do you want to do it again?"

"Um... o-okay!"

"Then let's continue!"

"Continue!"

...

"This is far too reckless!!"

In the afternoon.

Having exited the Dungeon, El and Lunoire were currently in a corner of the Adventurer's Guild hall, receiving a severe reprimand from the Guild Advisor.

"Miss Lunoire, really! You were supposed to be keeping an eye on Mr. El, how could you let such an exaggerated thing happen!!"

Gesturing vigorously with both hands.

Eina spoke righteously and started slamming the table.

"Adventurers shouldn't take unnecessary risks; only those who come back alive can become true adventurers!"

"..."

Lunoire nodded meekly at this moment. She also felt a bit regretful, feeling that she had gotten a little too carried away in the Dungeon just now.

"Does Mr. El understand?!"

"Understood!"

El immediately admitted his mistake, but whether he would actually change his ways in the future was another story.

"By the way, why would Mr. El carry such dangerous things around?!"

"They aren't dangerous. The RX-78 is the most basic R-Series mechanical combat unit. It is a Mechanic's most reliable and controllable good partner."

"Does reliable and controllable mean causing massive explosions?!"

"Explosions are also a reasonable combat tactic."

"!!!"

Holding her forehead, as a Guild Adventurer Advisor, Eina felt she had seen her fair share of "eccentrics"—among adventurers, there were more or less always people with strange personalities.

But what exactly were those things?

Looking at the tiny sphere still floating beside El, which he called the [HS-1 Mechanical Assistant], Eina couldn't help but feel that this newcomer from the Demeter Familia was shrouded in mystery from head to toe.

But upholding her professional ethics.

Eina wouldn't casually pry into other people's secrets.

Therefore.

"In any case, Mr. El is not allowed to cause such severe explosions in the Dungeon next time. This is a warning from the Guild, it's not a joke."

"Understood!"

He nodded again.

Then, as if he had discovered something, El quickly leaned in front of Eina.

"Will explosions cause severe consequences? Doesn't the Dungeon repair damaged areas? The craters from the explosions will also recover quickly."

"Does the Guild know some secret?"

He blinked.

El keenly seemed to have noticed something. He thought to himself, he hadn't even caused that much of a commotion, and hadn't even used the much more powerful EZ-8 Time Bomb.

Why was he being warned by the Guild?

"I don't know either."

Eina shook her head honestly.

She truly didn't understand. It was just that earlier, after the Guild received reports of El and his companion causing massive explosions in the Dungeon, they sought her out as his advisor to issue a warning.

El didn't delve further into this and expressed that he would definitely comply next time.

As a Mechanic with scientific literacy.

El understood.

Behind every outrageous rule, there was definitely an even more outrageous or bloody backstory...
