The Shackling Prison.
The deepest, darkest, and most heavily guarded place on the Luofu.
Countless major criminals were imprisoned here, some of them ancient inmates who had been locked away for thousands of years.
And today, the Luofu's General, Jing Yuan, had suddenly arrived with two honored guests.
"General."
A prison guard stepped forward and bowed respectfully.
Jing Yuan said flatly, "Lead the way. To the lowest level."
The guard hesitated for a moment, then accepted the order.
The lowest level.
That was where the most important prisoner in the entire Shackling Prison was held.
The guard's gaze instinctively swept over the two white-haired women following behind the General, but he did not dare ask any questions. He simply led them onward in silence.
They passed through layer after layer of checkpoints, descending deeper and deeper.
At last, at the innermost point of the lowest level, the guard stopped.
"General, we've arrived."
Jing Yuan nodded and dismissed him.
Then he turned and looked toward the prison door covered in talismans.
A name was carved into the door.
Blade
Cecilia gazed at that name thoughtfully.
So this really is our original Destruction 3C poster boy, Blade.
As expected, Jing Yuan had indeed brought her here for him.
Though she had no idea what bizarre timeline this was, according to the Stellaron Hunters' plan, Kafka and Blade were both supposed to get themselves "captured."
"Jing Yuan, why did you bring us here to see him?"
At that moment, Jingliu turned toward Jing Yuan and asked coldly.
Of course she knew who was inside the cell.
That was her former friend—Yingxing.
Jing Yuan replied calmly, "I want to end his suffering."
Jingliu fell silent.
Cecilia, on the other hand, was much more active on the inside.
She was not close to Blade, so she had no particular investment in the tangled loves and grudges among these people.
But judging from Jing Yuan's meaning, he wanted her to send Blade on to his final rest?
Seriously? Was the Luofu really this useless?
A dignified Emanator of the Hunt, and they truly could not destroy a somewhat stronger follower of Abundance? They actually had to come to her for something like this?
Cecilia raised a brow and quietly looked toward the door covered in restraints.
She could sense it clearly—on the other side of the door was an extremely unusual aura.
It was a pure Abundance presence originating from an Emanator of Abundance.
Looks like even devouring just a small piece of Shuhu's flesh really had pushed Blade's strength up by quite a bit.
Of course, he was still nowhere near Cecilia.
At that moment, Jing Yuan began explaining things to Cecilia.
"His name is Blade. He's one of the Stellaron Hunters. Miss Cecilia may have heard of him."
"But in the past, he had another name—Yingxing. The Master Craftsman of the Artisanship Commission, the greatest smith on the Luofu, and…"
He paused, his gaze landing on Jingliu.
"…one of our old friends."
Jingliu said nothing, her face as expressionless as ever.
In the end, Cecilia was the first to break the silence.
"An old friend…"
"So you want me to kill him? I told you already, didn't I? I'm a doctor. And now you're asking me to help you kill someone?"
Jing Yuan gave a soft sigh.
"The Abundance blessing inside him is too powerful—so powerful that even death cannot truly end him. Every time he dies, he revives. But living… living is its own torment for him as well."
"Since Miss Cecilia has the means to suppress mara, then I wondered whether you might also be able to strip away the Abundance blessing from his body."
"I want you to see whether there is any way for him to… truly rest in peace."
To truly rest in peace.
That was the greatest mercy a General could offer.
Cecilia said nothing. She merely looked at Jingliu.
If she remembered correctly, because of what had happened back then, Jingliu had always harbored resentment toward him. She should have wanted nothing more than for him to suffer forever.
And yet Jingliu's answer was unexpected.
"…Let him rest."
Cecilia looked surprised.
So Jingliu was the type with a sharp tongue and a soft heart after all.
"Let him rest?"
"I've heard the story of the High-Cloud Quintet. I thought you'd want him to keep suffering forever."
Jingliu did not avoid her gaze. She only said flatly, "Eight hundred years of torment is enough."
The moment those words fell, something flickered in Jing Yuan's eyes.
What had happened back then truly was a knot that could never be untied, a wound Jing Yuan would never forget.
But that debt had long since become impossible to settle cleanly.
For Jingliu to say enough now meant she really had let go of something.
"All right then." Cecilia nodded.
"Since even you say so, I'll take a look."
With that, she stepped toward the prison door.
Jing Yuan instinctively wanted to warn her about the restrictions on it, but before he could speak, Cecilia had already placed a hand against the door.
The dense array of talismans lit up instantly, blazing with harsh light.
Then, under Cecilia's touch, they dimmed again, as if suppressed by some even greater power.
Click.
The prison door slowly opened.
Jing Yuan's pupils contracted slightly.
Those restrictions had been laid jointly by generations of Diviners from the Divination Commission. Even powerful Pathstriders would have to spend some effort to force their way through.
And yet Cecilia paid no mind to his shock. She simply stepped straight into the cell.
The cell was dark, lit only by a single dim, ghostly lamp hanging overhead.
In the corner sat a figure with his back to her.
His long hair hung in loose disarray, and he wore prison garb. Bandages wrapped around the wrists exposed outside his sleeves.
Even in this environment, Cecilia could clearly sense the thick Abundance aura within him.
Blade—or rather, Yingxing.
He seemed to notice someone entering, but gave no reaction. He remained in that same posture, as if he had already lost all interest in the world.
"Hey," Cecilia called out. "Turn around and let me take a look."
No response.
Cecilia raised a brow and took another step forward.
At that instant, the figure suddenly moved.
He spun around with terrifying speed, a pair of dark red eyes locking onto Cecilia.
But the moment he saw the two people standing behind her, he froze.
"…Jing Yuan, Jingliu?"
The air inside the cell seemed to solidify for a moment.
Blade's gaze swept over Jing Yuan, then settled on Jingliu.
"You… you're still alive."
Jingliu looked at him expressionlessly. "You failed to die too."
Blade let out a low laugh.
"Die? I've died so many times I've lost count."
"But every single time, I wake up again. Every single time."
Then Jingliu spoke once more.
"Then let me kill you one more time."
