Chapter 5 - Chapter 4 - Training. Pain Blocking.

Thinking about it, besides training, I also need to eat well. Are three meals a day really ideal in cases like this? I don't think that's enough. I need a lot of calories in order to recover.

Then again, I don't really understand much about nutrition, but looking at the current state of my body…

I looked down and lifted my shirt.

My ribs were visible, and my stomach looked like it was being sucked inward. There wasn't even a little bit of fat or muscle anywhere. If I touched my stomach, I'd probably feel my organs almost directly.

I let my shirt fall and then asked Nano to show me the entire training routine she had created.

I think I'll treat this thing like a woman, even if it doesn't have a gender. Well, her voice is feminine.

At my request, information began appearing rapidly in front of me. Lines of text kept popping up one after another. This time there was so much information that Nano didn't even use her voice.

[Initial Training Routine]

[Physical Recovery Protocol: Considering the host's current condition (malnutrition, severe muscle loss, and physical parameters below the human standard), this unit has developed a progressive strengthening program suitable for execution in a limited space.]

[Daily Cycle]

[1 – Mobility and body activation:] Full-body stretching and breathing control for 10 minutes to restore flexibility and circulation.

[2 – Basic strengthening:] 5 sets of 10 squats, 5 sets of 8 push-ups (kneeling if necessary), and 5 sets of 12 sit-ups, with short rest intervals.

[3 – Endurance training:] Running in place or continuous movement within the available space for 15 minutes to rebuild lung capacity.

[4 – Body control training:] Balance practice on one foot, controlled muscle contraction, and slow combat movements for 10 minutes to improve coordination and reflexes.

[5 – Recovery:] Light stretching and deep breathing for 5 minutes. The system monitors the host's fatigue, heart rate, and muscular adaptation, automatically adjusting intensity as the body grows stronger.

After reading all of that, I started getting a headache.

Nano's first request was very simple—stretching and breathing control—but after that… it became quite complicated.

Five sets of ten squats, five sets of eight push-ups, five sets of twelve sit-ups…

With this body?

If I still had my old body, doing this would be easy—very easy. But now it's extremely difficult.

[This is necessary.]

Nano's sweet voice said.

Ah, shit. Fine, fine, I'll do it. But first of all, what do you mean by breathing control? Help me with that. Is it like meditation?

[Breathing control refers to the conscious regulation of breathing to stabilize the body and improve oxygen usage. Inhale slowly through the nose for 4 seconds, hold the air for 2 seconds, and exhale through the mouth for 4 seconds. Repeat the cycle continuously while keeping the body relaxed. This process reduces fatigue, improves muscle recovery, and increases body control. It is not meditation, but it may produce a similar effect of mental and physical stabilization.]

I see, I see. The stretches must be like the ones I used to do before cycling, right? Got it.

I stood up and started stretching my body.

However, as soon as I began, I realized things would be more difficult than I expected.

Any movement I made caused an extremely unpleasant pain throughout my body.

It felt like my arms were going to fall off.

It felt like my legs were going to break.

My back felt like it was going to split in half.

By the time I finished stretching, I was already sweating.

Damn, my whole body hurts. It's impossible to exercise like this. Just stretching was enough to make my entire body ache.

[Muscle pain detected after initial physical exertion. To avoid interruption of training, this unit will temporarily suppress the pain signals sent by the nervous system in the affected areas. Warning: pain suppression does not eliminate real muscular fatigue. It is recommended to continue training with caution. Initiating pain suppression.]

Then a message from Nano appeared.

In the very next moment, all the pain I had been feeling disappeared.

"Hahaha, Nano, you're really amazing."

However, my legs and arms were still trembling a little.

Knock.

Knock.

Knock.

"Excuse me, I'm coming in."

Then I heard a woman's voice. The door unlocked, and the same maid from before entered.

She was a beautiful woman with brown hair and honey-colored eyes. Her face looked very young.

She entered carrying a tray full of things—snacks of all kinds.

"They asked me to bring this to you. They said you need to eat a lot, so…"

The woman looked at my body (I wasn't wearing a shirt) and seemed visibly uncomfortable with what she saw.

Not because I'm sexy or anything like that.

But because it's unpleasant.

I gave a bitter smile and replied,

"Thank you."

The woman nodded and left the room.

She might be useful for escaping this place in the future.

I sat down and started eating before beginning my exercises.

####

After finishing eating, I started my exercises.

First, I began the 5 sets of 10 squats.

I did the ten squats as fast as I could and felt a kind of fatigue in my legs that I had never experienced before. It felt like I was going to collapse to the ground even though I couldn't feel pain.

However, seconds later, the fatigue in my legs disappeared because Nano acted to help with that.

That's why she said to take short intervals—she would help me recover during those breaks.

Some time later, I finished the five sets of squats and started the five sets of eight push-ups.

Even without feeling pain or fatigue in my arms, doing a single push-up was difficult. My whole body started sweating like crazy.

When I finished the first set, I collapsed face-first onto the floor and took a deep breath.

"Damn. My heart is beating way too fast."

I started hyperventilating, but soon I calmed down and began the second set.

And just like that… time passed.
