Chapter 123 - Chapter 123: Devil Fruit

As Raiden Ei's words fell, a man next to Doya jumped up in excitement and said to Doya, "Boss, I knew it, this is a Devil Fruit, we're going to get rich!"

Doya, however, was much more composed. While others were also a bit excited, he pressed down on his companion who had jumped up happily and said sternly, "Calm down!"

Then he said to Raiden Ei, "Do you need this Devil Fruit?"

Raiden Ei looked at Doya and asked in confusion, "You wouldn't not know the value of a Devil Fruit, would you?"

Everyone else calmed down after hearing Doya's words. He released his hand from the other person's shoulder and said:

"We found this on the ship. If you hadn't saved us, we wouldn't have been able to get the Devil Fruit. So, if you need it, we'll give you the Devil Fruit as our thanks!"

Raiden Ei looked at the tall man who didn't seem to be lying. However, she wasn't short of a few thousand energy points right now. If she could get it, that would be fine, so she asked, "What if I don't need it?"

Doya said with a hint of disappointment, "Then we'll sell it, and I'll give you half of the Berries, but that will take a long time."

Raiden Ei was a little curious why he wouldn't eat it himself. Wouldn't that make him stronger?

Curious, she asked, "Why don't you eat it yourself? Wouldn't you gain a powerful ability that way? Then you'd be able to deal with pirates if you encountered them again."

Doya thought about Raiden Ei's words, but still shook his head. "Although eating it might give me a powerful ability, I'd also be cursed by the sea and become a landlubber.

If we sell it, its value is enough for us to live comfortably for decades."

After hearing Doya's words, Raiden Ei took the Devil Fruit. The fruit was actually larger than her palm. She examined it carefully and confirmed:

"This should be a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit. I don't know what its specific ability is." She then looked at Doya and asked, "I can buy it, are you sure you don't want to eat it yourself?"

She didn't care if it was because she saved them that they found the Devil Fruit. To her, Berries seemed even less useful.

She casually handed the Devil Fruit to little Elysia, who had been watching for a while, full of curiosity, and told her not to eat it.

Doya saw Raiden Ei's actions and looked at little Elysia with a hesitant expression, but still looked at her and only said, "I'm sure. Rather than gambling on having a powerful ability, it's better to take the Berries and share them with my brothers."

Raiden Ei didn't say anything. Everyone has their own choices. She took out 100 million Berries from her system backpack and handed them to Doya: "This is 100 million Berries."

Everyone except Doya became excited. They had never seen so many Berries before and looked at Doya with expectant eyes.

Doya, however, did not do as they wished. He didn't take it and instead said, "Just half is enough for us, we don't need this much!"

Raiden Ei thought this person was quite honest. Looking at the subordinates following him, she felt he was a decent person in this world!

So she said, "100 million Berries is just the Devil Fruit's listed price, it doesn't mean it's only worth 100 million Berries."

Doya instantly understood Raiden Ei's meaning, but he still hesitated for a moment before accepting it, saying gratefully:

"Then thank you very much. My name is Doya, a fisherman from Punkelama Island. If there's anything I can help with, just let me know."

Raiden Ei nodded.

Seeing this, Doya's group didn't stay long. They happily left with the Berries. This was like unexpected wealth, getting money they couldn't earn in a lifetime without doing anything. How could they not be happy?

Raiden Ei looked at the Devil Fruit that little Elysia was holding and playing with. A Khvarena flashed in her mind, so she said to little Elysia, "Little Elysia, what do you think of Doya's character just now?"

Little Elysia thought for a moment before saying in confusion, "He's an honest person, capable, has his own ideas, and a bit of leadership. What's wrong?"

Seeing that little Elysia said so, Raiden Ei also spoke her sudden Khvarena: "Hmm, I was thinking, if Doya ate the Devil Fruit, could he protect Punkelama Island?"

Little Elysia thought for a moment before saying, "Sister Ei, isn't this Devil Fruit very precious?"

"Uh, actually, it's not that important to me."

Raiden Ei took out the two Devil Fruits she got from Panshan Island from her system backpack and said, "I got these from a pirate treasure. They are quite precious Devil Fruits."

Little Elysia curiously took them to look. The patterns on the three Devil Fruits were all different.

Raiden Ei took the dark green Devil Fruit from little Elysia's hand, casually put it into her system backpack, and continued to explain to her:

"The one with red patterns is a Zoan-type Mythical Beast Black Dragon form Devil Fruit, and the one with blue patterns is a Paramecia-type Psychokinesis ability fruit. As long as you eat it, you can gain that ability."

Although Raiden Ei looked conflicted, she still told the truth: "But it's extremely unpalatable."

When she first got the Devil Fruits, she didn't know what they were. She tried them when she encountered pirates before, and only then did she realize what kind of Devil Fruits they were.

After listening to Raiden Ei's narration, little Elysia became even more curious: "Sister Ei, have you eaten one?"

Raiden Ei nodded, placing her left hand in front of her. Purple lightning covered half of her arm, and then, under little Elysia's surprised gaze, her arm completely turned into lightning.

"I ate the Logia type Goro Goro no Mi. It allows me to elementalize, become immune to physical DMG, and release lightning. It has many other uses that I haven't developed yet, and this training trip is also for that."

She put away her elementalized arm and then explained the Devil Fruit classifications and the three types of Haki to little Elysia. Finally, she asked:

"How about it, little Elysia, do you need them? The abilities of these two Devil Fruits are quite good."

Little Elysia hesitated for a moment but still refused, pushing all the Devil Fruits back to Raiden Ei: "No!"

Raiden Ei smiled indifferently, put away the Devil Fruits, and casually checked the stats of the dark green Devil Fruit.

(4000) Not bad, not the worst.

She took it out again and asked little Elysia, "What do you think of my previous suggestion?"

Little Elysia agreed without thinking: "Okay! Sister Ei is the best ♪♪♪"

Raiden Ei: Uh... I really don't know if Elysia is truly a child, or just pretending to be one!

She wanted to give this Devil Fruit to Doya mainly because of little Elysia and the Orphanage she stayed in. That island seemed to be frequently harassed by pirates.

This Devil Fruit was useless to her, so it might as well serve a purpose. Doya seemed capable of doing this, and she had also asked Elysia for her opinion.

They had been at the bow for a long time, so she took little Elysia back.
