Raiden Ei was greatly shocked by this scene. She had never seen such a disgusting Devil Fruit ability. She had only seen Devil Fruit abilities that made people ugly.
Looking at the sticky slime from the suckers on the tentacles, which were slippery and could stick together, she was utterly disgusted. The number of tentacles was also so great; this was no longer comparable to an octopus.
Her hand unconsciously gripped the hilt of her sword, ready to slay him at any moment. She still needed to confirm the location of the log pose, otherwise, this whole ordeal would have been for nothing.
Raiden Ei was entirely shrouded in a cloak, and her face was covered by a mask. Others could only see the hand that had re-gripped her sword. She appeared completely unaffected and spoke in a flat tone:
"Do you have a log pose that heads to Jaya Island? Then take it out and show me. I'll consider joining you afterward."
Sanjam's expression remained unchanged, his eyes still fixed on Raiden Ei's every move. His mocking voice rang out: "Hahaha, it seems you're unwilling to talk, aren't you!"
Woman, do you really think I'm that foolish?
It seems I need to take action myself and let you know who I am."
As soon as Sanjam finished speaking, the tentacles covering half the hall suddenly surged rapidly toward Raiden Ei, knocking over all the tables and chairs in their path.
Raiden Ei felt that she had already shown great restraint by not drawing her sword immediately to slash them. Now that talking was impossible, she felt it was even better.
Her expression became serious as she faced the attacking tentacles. She instantly drew the Demon Blade held in her hand and slashed down with a 'Zheng'.
"Shua!" A slash instantly appeared before the tentacles could even reach Raiden Ei, severing all the attacking tentacles!
"Bang bang bang bang!"
The severed tentacles all fell onto the wooden floor, creating a huge noise.
Sanjam retracted the broken tentacles, looking at Raiden Ei with a gloomy expression. The look on his face fell, but he still showed no trace of fear.
He stood up from his chair, stretched his limbs, and said to her unkindly: "Damn it, you actually have some skill. Then don't blame me for not holding back!"
Raiden Ei held the Demon Blade in one hand, watching the tentacles she had severed slowly melt into slime and disappear. Only patches of slime remained on the empty wooden floor.
She looked at the enraged Sanjam and said in a flat tone: "Haven't you seen the gap in our strength yet? Wouldn't it be better to hand over the log pose obediently?"
Sanjam paid no attention to what Raiden Ei said. Prepared to attack with full force, his two hands instantly transformed into thick tentacles, and the tentacles that had replaced his hair grew back.
"Die! I will find the secret of Skypiea."
The tentacles seemed to have minds of their own, writhing and surging rapidly toward Raiden Ei from different directions.
"Shua!"
This time, the attacking tentacles were not as friendly as before. Judging by the slime dripping on the wooden floor, it had already corroded small holes into the wood.
"Still not listening to advice? Fine, I'll just kill you then!"
Raiden Ei swung the Demon Blade in her hand, and slashes instantly appeared, severing all the incoming tentacles.
Before the tentacles could even fall to the ground, her figure rushed toward Sanjam, instantly closing the distance. "Shua!" Before he could react, the Demon Blade swung out, and Sanjam's head flew off.
"Bang!"
"With such little strength, yet so arrogant." Raiden Ei ignored his body falling to the ground. She didn't even want this Devil Fruit; it was too disgusting.
She turned toward the few people in the corner. They probably knew where the log pose she wanted was located. She walked toward them: "Hey, which one of you knows where the log pose that points directly to Jaya Island is?"
The two burly men exchanged a look. One took out a log pose from his pocket and handed it to Raiden Ei, while sweating profusely, he said:
"Th-this is it, please spare us!"
Just as Raiden Ei was about to reach for the log pose, her Observation Haki suddenly alerted her to an attack coming her way the next instant.
With no time to think, she instantly grabbed the log pose and stomped hard on the ground, flashing to the side. Her figure narrowly avoided the incoming attack.
"Bang!"
The floor where Raiden Ei had been standing moments ago was instantly shattered by several tentacles descending from above, making a loud noise. The few people standing in the corner were instantly thrown back by the residual shockwave.
"Shua!"
Raiden Ei's figure stabilized in an open space nearby. She turned to look in the direction the attack came from and said in surprise: "You're not dead yet?"
She saw Sanjam, whose head she had just severed, standing up again. His entire body was covered with the unique suckers of tentacles. He looked as if he had transformed into a giant tentacle.
Sanjam's hands and feet turned into tentacles, lifting him off the ground. The corner of his mouth lifted, and a laugh emerged from his sucker-like mouth: "Hehe, how could I possibly die from such a weak attack."
"I ate the Paramecia-type Tentacle Fruit's Tentacle Man ability. My body can stretch and shrink freely. No matter what damage I suffer, I will not die."
"I really didn't expect you to be able to dodge my full-power strike. You do have some ability."
Raiden Ei didn't care about Sanjam's claim of immortality. How could there be an ability to be truly immortal? Even if there was, the price must be steep. She would just kill him a few more times to see if he would still die.
She picked up the log pose she had just obtained and looked at it. The pointer indicated a place labeled "Skypiea."
She hadn't expected that log poses pointing directly to a specific island would have labels. Why didn't the log pose Berkeley gave her have a label?
She thought they would be like ordinary log poses. Was she toyed with? Or what?
She wouldn't worry about that now. She would force an explanation out of him when she saw him later! Finding the log pose for Jaya Island was the priority.
Although this log pose wasn't the one for Jaya Island, she still put it into her system backpack. As for how to find the log pose for Jaya Island, she could just kill all the pirates first and then search slowly.
"Hehe, you really underestimated me!" Sanjam commanded his tentacles to lash out at Raiden Ei. "Bang!" The tentacle directly broke the main pillar made of stacked Stones that blocked its path.
Raiden Ei's thoughts flashed through her mind in just a breath or two. Facing Sanjam's fierce attack,
Her Observation Haki sensed the attacks coming next, and without hesitation, she retreated directly toward the outside.
"Bang!"
The tentacle attack missed and smashed through another wall of the hall.
The house could no longer hold up and collapsed with a roar. The sound of "Boom!" echoed throughout the entire island.
Sanjam and the few people in the hall were buried alive under the ruins.
