In a world where heroes grow stronger through admiration and villains rise through fear, the public had already seen Light as the latter long before his awakening. They called him Lightless… a boy cursed by misfortune.

When his Villain System awakened, the National Authority saw the  catastrophe he could become and locked him inside the country’s most dangerous facility, a high-security city built to contain thousands of villains.

Only then did Light realize the truth… the place was never built to keep him in.

It was built to protect the world from what he was becoming.

Light watched with an empty face as the system's words vanished, replaced by a notification.


All his hopes shattered in an instant. For a brief moment, he silently regretted ever laughing at life.
