Chapter 12 - 8 JANG (장) / CHAPTER 8

Hyunjin

We get out of the car in front of Mr. Jo's dilapidated house. The silence is almost palpable, broken only by the rustling of leaves in the wind. Taeju emerges from the shadows along the cracked road. He has been hiding there for two whole days, observing Mr. Jo's house like a hungry predator. The sharp glow of a cigarette breaks the darkness, the only sign. that he is there. He moves calmly, but there is something dangerous shining in his eyes. He stops by the car, drops the cigarette butt onto the cracked asphalt and crushes it hard. with the sole of his shoe. Glancing at us with a frown, he pulls his eyebrows together and asks the question I've been expecting.

„Where's Jiwook?" Jiwook was his partner, and he deserves an answer, that he certainly won't want to hear. However, I'm still too nervous to answer, so I just growl, light my own cigarette and head for the peeling door of Mr. Jo's shabby dwelling.

„I'm sorry, Taeju, but Jiwook is dead." A voice, whispers behind me, but still loud enough to break the silence and shattering the fragile bond of patience. Taeju lets loose a barrage of curses, which he is understandably entitled to.

I stop in front of the door and look back at my group. Taeju is still standing by the car, trying to come to terms, with what he has just been told. Hanil and Janil join me, acting as my bodyguards. Not that I need them against Mr. Jo. I can handle that bastard on my own.

I raise my hand to knock on the front door, but it creaks open before I can do so. A young man, who looks very similar to Mr. Jo is standing there, looking at me in surprise. He has striking youthful features, dark eyes with a deep gaze and black, slightly wavy, shoulder-length hair. He looks almost exactly like his father, only less corrupted. I look him up and down. He is slightly shorter than me and handsome.

He stares at me as if I were a holy image, full of wonder. His gaze changes, however, when I blow cigarette smoke in his direction, right into his face. The spell is broken immediately.

We go inside and I push the young man aside. I don't wait for an invitation — Mr. Jo knows, why I'm here. He was expecting me much earlier today.

„We're a little late, Mr. Jo." I apologise and head straight for the trembling old man crouching in the corner. Three steps away from Mr. Jo, the young man steps in front of me, offers me his hand and introduces himself as Taesung, Mr. Jo's son.

Jo Taesung.

I look the young man over again from head to toe and do not accept his offered hand. I look at Mr. Jo and can tell from his expression, why his son is here. Of all days, today. This naive boy has no idea, what's going on, yet he offers himself to me so politely. Isn't this situation just perfect?

I laugh darkly and deeply because I have just realised, how I could use the young Jo Taesung. I can feel the tension in my groin, his body is young and supple. Tomorrow, he will be mine. He will repay his father's debt by kneeling obediently on all fours, naked, like a dog.

Mr. Jo didn't want to sell his daughter, so instead he sold his son, who I didn't even know he had.

„You're so young and naive, Taei. You have no idea, what you've been signed up for," I tell the young man in his own language. A look of incomprehension appears on his face. I grab him by the chin and hold him tight as if in a vice. Mr. Jo almost collapses with relief, when I tell him that I consider his debt paid. Jo Tae-sung now belongs to me.

As we leave Mr. Jo's house and head towards the car, the young man unexpectedly slips out of Hanil's grasp. He moves at lightning speed and, with a few precise moves of the martial art taekwondo, knocks Hanil to the ground before running away. We all stare at him in surprise, wondering, where he got such strength from, given that he is half the size of Hanil and doesn't look particularly strong. I am honestly amazed.

„Fuck! Did he just knock Hanil to the ground?" wonders Taeju, standing on the other side of the car by the open door. I look back at Taeju, then at Jo Taesung, reconsidering my initial thought. I had misjudged him, he was supposed to be fragile and breakable. But there's more fire in him, than I expected. I would love to have this young man beneath me, while I fuck him hard, but safety comes first in my world. I miss Jiwook, but I think I've just found his replacement. His fighting skills are currently more valuable than his body.

Hanil grabs Taesung by the hair, drags him back to the car and throws him inside without mercy. I climb in behind him, slam the door shut, and we disappear into the darkness.
