Chapter 17 - chapter 17 An Unexpected Visitor

Months had passed since John finished his university exams. He had worked hard and finally graduated, but finding a job was harder than he expected. Day after day, he sent applications, visited offices, and spoke to employers. The answer was always the same:

"No position available."

One evening, John returned home, exhausted and frustrated. His small house looked just as it always did—walls cracked, paint faded, door barely hanging on its hinges.

He dropped his bag on the table and slumped into a chair.

"I really need a job," he muttered.

Suddenly—

CRASH.

The front door burst open. John jumped to his feet, heart hammering. A young woman had just forced her way inside.

"Hey! What are you doing?" he shouted, his voice rising. "Why did you break my door? I'm already poor!"

The girl ignored the broken door. Her sharp eyes scanned his face, studying him carefully, like a scientist observing a specimen.

"You are John… right?" she asked.

John blinked, confusion twisting his features.

"Yes," he said slowly. "But why are you breaking into my house?"

The girl stepped closer. Every movement was controlled, deliberate. The room seemed to shrink around them, silence pressing in.

"So it really is you," she said quietly, almost to herself.

John felt a strange chill. He had no idea that this girl might know more about him than he did about himself. And in that moment, he realized his life—ordinary, frustrating, and predictable—was about to change forever.

To be continued…
