The High Witch smiled faintly.
"So," she said, her voice calm yet powerful, "the Moonborn awakens."
Lena forced herself to stand her ground. "I'm not going anywhere with you."
The woman tilted her head slightly. "You misunderstand."
The air shifted suddenly.
Violently.
"I don't need to take you," the High Witch continued.
Lena felt it immediately.
A sharp pull deep inside her chest.
Pain surged.
Her power reacted wildly.
"You will come to me."
Lena staggered, struggling to stay upright.
Kael reached for her. "Lena—fight it!"
But the pull grew stronger.
Her silver light flared uncontrollably.
"I can't—" she gasped.
The High Witch watched calmly.
"Yes," she said softly. "You can't resist what you are."
The wind spiraled violently.
Lena's vision blurred.
Her control was slipping again.
And this time—
It felt worse.
