Across the valley Eira raised her staff and shouted to the wolves.
"Protect the Moonborn!"
But the witches were already moving again.
Dark magic swirled across the ground, twisting the wind and shaking the trees surrounding the valley.
Lena felt the strange energy inside her growing stronger.

Kael shifted back into human form beside her.
"Lena," he said urgently. "You have to focus."
