Nhel left finally, his cape flowing with the wind as his horse continued drifting out of earshot.
"Everything's going to be okay," Juliana said, pulling Anisha out of her thoughts. Her hands came to rest on Anisha's shoulders.
Anisha inhaled softly, still staring in the direction Nhel had taken. She had hopes that it would be.
"Thank you, Juli," she responded. Her eyes trailed to Juliana's stomach.
"You've gone a long way."
A giggle erupted from Juliana as she looked down at herself.
"Do you think it's a boy or a girl?" Juliana asked.
"You haven't checked?" Anisha's brow raised in surprise.
Juliana shook her head. "I don't want to. I'm nervous about it."
A small frown formed on Anisha's expression.
"Why should you be nervous about the baby's gender?"
It then clicked for Anisha. "Don't tell me you're afraid it would be a girl?" she asked knowingly, lowering her voice.
"Let's go in," Juliana said.
