Chapter 1 - The New Transfer Student

Morning sunlight spread across the quiet streets of Mystic Falls.

To outsiders, it looked like a peaceful American town.

Small cafés.

Historic houses.

Friendly neighbors.

But beneath that peaceful appearance…

Dark creatures lived among humans.

Vampires.

Witches.

Werewolves.

And today…

Something far older had arrived.

A black car slowly stopped in front of Mystic Falls High School.

Students were gathering outside, chatting and laughing as the school day began.

The car door opened.

A tall young man stepped out.

Black hair.

Sharp jawline.

Cold golden eyes that seemed to glow under the sunlight.

He looked about eighteen, yet the calmness in his gaze felt ancient.

This was Alexander Nightshade.

A being who had walked the earth for centuries.

A Tribrid.

Vampire.

Werewolf.

Witch.

A perfect balance of the three supernatural bloodlines.

Far stronger than any creature in existence.

Alexander looked at the school building quietly.

'Mystic Falls… the town where fate keeps repeating itself.'

His lips curved slightly.

'This should be interesting.'

He walked toward the school entrance.

The moment he entered the hallway…

Students began whispering.

Girls looked at him with curiosity.

Some even stopped talking entirely.

"Who is he?"

"Is he a new transfer student?"

"He's insanely handsome..."

Alexander ignored the attention.

After centuries of existence, human reactions like this meant nothing to him.

But suddenly…

His supernatural senses caught something.

A heartbeat.

Soft.

Gentle.

Yet strangely familiar.

Alexander turned his head.

Walking down the hallway was a beautiful girl with long brown hair.

Her warm eyes held a quiet sadness.

She was talking with two friends while carrying her books.

This was Elena Gilbert.

The famous Petrova doppelgänger.

Alexander watched her silently.

'So that is her… Elena Gilbert.'

For a brief moment…

Elena felt something.

She stopped walking.

Her heart skipped a beat.

She slowly looked up.

Her eyes met Alexander's.

Time seemed to freeze.

For reasons she couldn't explain…

She felt strangely drawn to him.

Alexander's golden eyes studied her calmly.

'Interesting… her soul feels different from other humans.'

Elena blinked and quickly looked away, slightly embarrassed.

Beside her, the energetic blonde girl noticed immediately.

This was Caroline Forbes.

Caroline grabbed Elena's arm excitedly.

"Did you see that new guy?!"

Elena tried to act normal.

"Maybe he's just a transfer student."

Caroline whispered loudly.

"Transfer student? He looks like a movie star!"

Meanwhile…

Alexander continued walking calmly.

He finished registering at the school office and received his class schedule.

As he stepped back into the hallway…

A new presence appeared nearby.

Cold.

Predatory.

Ancient.

A vampire.

Alexander didn't even need to turn around.

He already knew who it was.

Leaning casually against the lockers stood a man with dark hair and a confident smirk.

This was Damon Salvatore.

Damon watched Alexander with curiosity.

There was something strange about him.

Something that didn't feel human…

or vampire.

Damon slowly approached him.

"You're new."

Alexander glanced at him briefly.

"Yes."

Damon smiled slightly.

"Mystic Falls is a small town. I like to know when someone interesting arrives."

Alexander remained calm.

His golden eyes met Damon's.

For a split second…

Damon felt a chill run down his spine.

Alexander leaned slightly closer and spoke quietly.

"Then you should also know when to stay away."

Damon's smile faded slightly.

That confidence…

That calmness…

It didn't belong to a normal human.

Before Damon could reply, Alexander simply walked past him.

Leaving Damon staring at his back.

For the first time in a long time…

Damon felt something unusual.

Concern.

Meanwhile outside the school…

Elena looked through the classroom window.

She saw Alexander standing alone in the courtyard.

For some reason…

Her heart started beating faster again.

Caroline noticed her staring.

"You're looking at him again."

Elena quickly looked away.

"I'm not."

Caroline grinned.

"You totally are."

Outside, Alexander slowly lifted his gaze toward the sky.

A faint smile appeared on his lips.

'Mystic Falls…'

'Let's see how entertaining this place can be.'

And with that…

The story of Mystic Falls had quietly begun to change.

Because this time…

There was someone in town far more dangerous than any vampire.

Alexander Nightshade.
