Chapter 22 - I Don’t Care, You’re Just Bad!

"Alright, please follow me."

The waiter respectfully led the way.

The restaurant interior was elegantly decorated, warm and inviting.

Even though it wasn't the weekend, the place was almost completely full.

Fortunately, the two of them were lucky.

A table by the window had just been vacated, leaving behind an excellent seat.

As they sat down, the waiter thoughtfully pulled out the chairs for them.

Tian Xin reluctantly released the hand that had been tightly holding Lan Tianyu's arm and sat down gracefully, her long legs neatly together.

A waitress stepped forward, tying napkins for them before presenting an exquisitely designed menu.

"Since you're the one treating, I'll leave everything to you."

Lan Tianyu rested his chin on his interlocked hands without even looking at the menu.

Although this was technically his mother's business, he had never eaten here before.

He had no idea what the restaurant's signature dishes were.

It was better to let Tian Xin, who was clearly a regular customer, handle the ordering.

"Alright."

Tian Xin nodded lightly and accepted.

She didn't even open the menu before smoothly listing the dishes to the waitress.

"Two medium-rare filet mignon steaks with black truffle sauce, two servings of premium sturgeon caviar, and two portions of the signature seafood risotto."

The waitress quickly wrote everything down and, after confirming the order, turned to arrange the dishes.

At the table—

Once the waitress left, the atmosphere again fell into a subtle silence.

Lan Tianyu felt that anything he said might sound awkward.

Meanwhile, Tian Xin was still embarrassed by her bold earlier action.

The warmth on her cheeks had never really faded.

Still…

Kissing someone's cheek without permission—

Had she gone against his wishes?

The two quietly waited in silence.

Fifteen minutes later—

The steak, caviar, and other dishes were served one after another.

The steaming food released the rich aroma of fresh ingredients.

"Tianyu, try this seafood risotto."

Tian Xin finally gathered the courage to break the silence.

"The seafood here is incredibly fresh, and the rice absorbs all the broth. It's absolutely amazing!"

"And the steak too. The doneness is perfect, the meat is unbelievably tender…"

"I'll try it."

Lan Tianyu scooped up a spoonful of risotto and tasted it.

A rich burst of seafood flavor instantly bloomed across his taste buds.

It was genuinely delicious.

Looks like his mother had really put effort into selecting the dishes.

Otherwise, the business wouldn't be this good.

It was barely dinner time, yet every seat was already filled.

With delicious food as the bridge between them, the awkwardness slowly faded.

Conversation began to flow naturally.

They talked about the restaurant's dishes, then about amusing stories at school.

The atmosphere gradually became relaxed and pleasant.

Half an hour later—

Only empty plates remained on the table.

"Excuse me, the bill please."

Tian Xin took her wallet out of her bag and waved toward the cashier.

A waiter quickly approached with a respectful and friendly smile.

"Miss, your table has already been comped. There's no need to pay."

"Ah? Comped?"

Tian Xin looked confused.

Eating without paying?

That had never happened before.

Lan Tianyu understood immediately.

Someone must have recognized who he was.

After all, eating at your own restaurant—

There was no way the boss would be asked to pay.

He stood up, walked over to Tian Xin, and naturally took her hand from the table, gently pulling her to her feet.

"Let's go. I'll explain outside."

Still slightly dazed from having her hand held, Tian Xin followed him out of the restaurant.

The evening breeze brushed against her face, helping her regain some clarity.

She looked up at Lan Tianyu's sharply defined profile.

"So… what exactly happened?"

Lan Tianyu stopped walking and turned to face her.

With a faint smile at the corner of his lips, he explained calmly.

"This restaurant belongs to my mom. Of course we don't need to pay here."

"I see."

Tian Xin suddenly understood.

But then she remembered something.

She lightly punched Lan Tianyu's arm in mock complaint.

"But I said I was treating you! Now it ended up being you treating me instead."

Her slightly pouting lips looked especially tempting beneath the neon lights and night sky.

There was a charming, girlish innocence to her expression.

Seeing her like this—

Lan Tianyu felt his heart stir for a brief moment.

Under his gaze, Tian Xin's heartbeat sped up again.

The blush that had just faded returned instantly to her cheeks.

Her shy and bashful appearance stirred a strong impulse in Lan Tianyu.

Without thinking—

Following his instincts—

He lowered his head and kissed her soft, moist red lips.

After all—

This woman had kissed him earlier.

And he wasn't someone who liked taking a loss.

If she kissed him—

He had to kiss her back.

"Mmm… my first kiss is gone…"

Tian Xin's mind went completely blank.

The last trace of rationality told her she should push Lan Tianyu away.

Yet her body did the opposite.

Her slender arms not only didn't resist—

They wrapped tightly around Lan Tianyu's strong waist.

At first, neither of them had any experience.

But soon they gradually found their rhythm.

Their breaths mingled between their lips, hot and sweet.

Each carried the other's unique scent, as if they were melting into one another.

Only when Tian Xin began to run out of breath and let out a soft whimper did her hands gently push against his chest.

Lan Tianyu reluctantly pulled away.

He smacked his lips slightly, savoring the lingering softness and sweetness.

"You're so bad!"

Tian Xin pouted shyly, her face so red it seemed like it could drip blood.

She lightly punched his firm shoulder with her small fist.

"But you kissed me first earlier. I'm just returning the favor."

Lan Tianyu raised an eyebrow.

His arm still wrapped around Tian Xin's slender waist in a slightly domineering manner, his fingers absentmindedly stroking it.

"I don't care. You're still bad!"

Tian Xin buried her burning face in his chest, her voice muffled and slightly coquettish.

While they teased each other like this, they unknowingly walked back to the Ferrari.

"I'll drive you home."

Lan Tianyu's voice was calm, but his tone carried an unquestionable firmness.

Tian Xin nodded lightly.

After all—

She had already given him her first kiss.

Being driven home was nothing compared to that.

The two got into the driver and passenger seats, fastening their seatbelts.

The engine roared softly.

The Ferrari shot forward like a streak of red light in the night, instantly merging into the flowing city traffic.
