Events, speeches, reunions—creatures who'd met through the movement coming together to honor how far they'd come.
Colene, now a respected documentarian, screened her latest film: "The Manananggal Who Changed Everything."
"I didn't know what I was filming that night," she told the audience. "I just thought I'd caught something weird. Turned out I'd caught history."
Glad spoke at the closing ceremony.
"Ten years ago, I was hiding in my apartment, terrified of being discovered. Today, I'm standing in front of thousands of beings—creatures and humans together—who've built something beautiful."
Applause.
"None of this happened because of me. It happened because of us. Because when given the choice between fear and love, we chose love. Again and again."
She looked at the statue of Anino, at the Watcher beside it, at the family surrounding her.
"Thank you. For everything."
The celebration continued until dawn.
And somewhere, always, a cat purred.
