Chapter 112 - The Battle Plan

Dawn brought strategy sessions.

The Eldest had communicated more information through the stone—fragments of ancient knowledge, forgotten battles, lost tactics.

"The Unseen can't be destroyed," Glad explained to the war council. "It's too old, too fundamental. But it can be... repelled. Starved. Forced back into hibernation."

"How?" Ariel asked.

"By doing exactly what we're doing. Uniting. Refusing to let it divide us. It feeds on fear, isolation, chaos. We starve it by being fearless, connected, organized."

"That's it? We just... exist?"

"We just exist TOGETHER. That's the part it can't handle."

The plan took shape.

Defensive circles—mixed species groups that couldn't be divided. Communication networks that kept everyone informed. Rapid response teams for any attack.

And most importantly—a core group of volunteers willing to confront the Unseen directly if needed.

"I'll lead them," Glad said.

"No." Ariel's voice was firm. "You're the symbol. If you fall, the movement falters."

"Then who?"

"Me." Maya stepped forward. "I'm young. Replaceable. And I've studied your tactics, your strategies, your everything. If someone needs to face it directly, let it be me."

Glad wanted to argue. But Maya's eyes held the same determination she'd seen in her own reflection, centuries ago.

"Okay. But you're not alone. Choose your team."

Maya nodded.

The next generation was stepping up.

Just as it should.
