Chapter 5 - Chapter 5, Volume 1

Inspector Vincen sat opposite Arora.

His hand rested on the newly found diary.

The pages were old, but the handwriting was still clear.

Outside the glass door, Elena stood silently.

She had never thought… things would come to this point.

Vinn opened the notebook.

He read a passage.

"Today, he beat her again.

I was in the hallway and heard crying.

I wanted to kill him."

The room fell silent.

Vinn looked up.

"This is your handwriting."

Arora didn't deny it.

She just looked down at the table.

Vinn continued:

"You love Elena."

A blunt statement.

The air suddenly became heavy as lead.

Outside the glass door, Elena trembled.

She had never heard anyone say that.

Arora smiled faintly.

A very light smile. "Inspector… you are very perceptive."

Vinsen set down the diary.

"That night, she went to Adrian's room."

Arora remained silent.

Vinsen continued, piecing together the picture step by step:

"The room was locked from the inside."

"There were no signs of a struggle."

"No murder weapon."

"The windows were also locked."

"At first glance… it looked like a sudden death."

He paused.

His gaze was sharp.

"But it was a murder."

Arora looked at him.

"Can you prove it?"

Vinsen subtly smirked.

"She prepared very carefully."

"She knew Adrian usually drank before bed."

"She also knew he trusted her."

"So she brought the wine."

"The wine was poisoned."

Outside the glass, Elena exclaimed,

"No…"

Vinsen continued.

"The poison wasn't the kind that kills instantly."

"It only paralyzed him."

"Then…"

"You used a pillow."

No one said anything.

The clock ticked.

Vinsen spoke slowly:

"After he died, you cleaned everything up."

"The wine glass was replaced."

"The poison was hidden."

"The room was locked again."

"You left through the front door… because no one would suspect anything."

He looked directly at Arora.

"Right?"

A long pause.

Arora chuckled.

A small but clear laugh.

"Inspector…"

"You're terrifying."

Vinsen didn't answer.

Arora looked up.

Her gaze softened.

"Yes."

"I killed him." Outside the glass, Elena stood stunned.

"No…"

Arora looked at her through the glass.

Her gaze softened.

"Elena."

Vincel gestured for the door to open.

Elena entered.

She trembled.

"Arora… why?"

Arora smiled.

"You know."

Elena shook her head.

"No… there was no need to do this…"

Arora whispered:

"He beat her."

"Every day."

"I heard it."

"I saw the wounds."

Her voice remained calm.

"But she endured it."

"For honor."

"For family."

"For society."

She smiled sadly.

"And I… am just a friend."

"I have no right."

Elena burst into tears.

Arora continued:

"That night… he beat her again."

"I saw blood."

"I think…"

She paused.

"That's enough."

The room fell silent.

Vinsel didn't interrupt.

Arora looked at Elena.

His gaze was tender, yet heartbreaking.

"I love you."

The words were spoken softly.

But like a knife cutting through the air.

Elena froze.

Arora smiled.

"Don't be afraid."

"I know it's not allowed."

"This society… doesn't accept it."

She shrugged slightly.

"That's why I never said it."

"If it weren't for him…"

"Perhaps I would still have remained silent."

Elena's tears fell.

Arora looked at her for a long time.

Then she said:

"But I don't regret it."

The police opened the door.

The handcuffs were brought in.

A soldier approached.

"Arora, you are arrested for murder."

Arora held out her hands.

Very calmly.

The metal clasps locked.

She stood up.

Before being led away, she turned back.

Looking at Elena.

Her gentle smile, as always.

"Don't cry."

"I did it… because I wanted to."

She whispered:

"And you… are innocent."

Elena burst into tears.

"Arora…"

Arora turned away.

Her figure faded into the distance.

Vinsen stood silently.

He looked at the diary on the table.

The last page read:

"I knew one day… it would all end."

"But if I could choose again…"

"I would still protect you."

Vinsen closed the notebook.

Outside, it began to rain.

A case closed. But that love story…

Only remains in the old pages.
