Chapter 2 - Heavenly War

It started with Croutonious. His intellect had significantly advanced since his birth, and he started to calculate the best ways to achieve his goal. A god cannot destroy another god of equal power with his own power. Croutonious needed something else. If he could not destroy Bob, he needed to confine him. Croutonious planned an intricate scheme. He would use a combination of energy from the primordial soup, small amounts of energy from the elder gods, and HyperString to craft a special device that would imprison Bob. He toiled away, meticulously adding bits of energy together and manifesting them into a form. Finally, the forging was complete. He had created a silver spoon, of which all the curious properties were unknown even to himself. He had the tool in his hands, and now he had to put it into action.

Croutonious gathered together all the Gods to get the game plan ready. They had to strategize how they were actually going to put the spoon into play, so they decided that they must use the spoon as a surprise to Bob. Finally, the time had come. A fierce chaotic battle between Croutonious and Bob ensued, with the Elder Gods observing unnoticed. While Croutonious generated walls rapidly to block the opposing attacks, and sprouted spikes inside Bob's energy, Bob destroyed Croutonious's foundation with his devastating jaw and various weapons. The gargantuan deities moved with surprising swiftness compared to their colossal size. Every action was one of overwhelming sheer will, intent, and determination on both sides. But the battle was cut short, as Croutonious had planned it perfectly.

The silver spoon had been launched at Bob as a projectile. Curious to see an object not commonly used in battle, Bob was determined to get a closer look, but this would be his fate, for as he turned to look at it, it sucked in his soul and form and constrained him. He was trapped. He could not move the spoon, break the spoon, shape the spoon, or do anything to the spoon. Inside was an entire empty dimension that seemed to defy logic. Bob could move. He could move as much as he wanted, but he wouldn't get anywhere. He could fly as high as we wanted, but he wouldn't get anywhere. He can see everything from the outside of the spoon, and yet not reach it. This was the magnitude of power that the simple spoon contained. Croutonious carried on with his duties, creating and creating more as there was nobody to interfere anymore. He was free to go all out. But not for long.

The silver spoon was cast away into the cosmos of the Soupyverse, and that was the major mistake of the gods. After many years, it was found upon a planet known as Minestrone (mi-nuh-strone-ee) , inhabited by a few modest spirits. The silver spoon sat solemnly silent while the oblivious spirits carried on relaxing. It had fallen on the ground, with the bowl side up. The spirits weren't exactly known to be the steadfast hardworking type, but then again, they had no reason to be, so they found satisfaction in lounging around on vacant planets. Do not think for a second, however, that these spirits are weak. There is a considerable amount of energy and power they hide behind their carefree mentality, even though they rarely use it. One such powerful being happened to chance upon the spoon during a stroll. And that was the end of his leisure, for once he took a look at the spoon, he was captured. Another notable quality of the spoon: if you see your reflection upside down, then Bob can control you. And that is exactly what happened here. This nameless spirit suddenly awakened the deep inner power rooted within him and his mind was seized by Bob. This is due to the properties of the spoon being made from primordial energy, which takes no sides and can be unstable. This instability allowed Bob to penetrate the folds of the neutral energy and use his manipulative powers to control entities. Bob then corrupted his soul with destruction energy, and he was thus known as the grisly Goulash, who served Bob while he was trapped in the spoon. Before corruption, Goulash was not so different from other spirits, but the power of destruction energy had released his inner potential, making him far superior to the rest of the untrained spirits. This is what made him so dangerous.

Goulash was then released upon the Elder Gods into a chaotic battle, while Bob continued to corrupt more spirits. Bob eventually reached a point where he was able to corrupt actual weaker gods as well as spirits. These gods were known as rebel gods. He had accumulated a small army of spirits and gods to join the battle. The Elder Gods did have extreme power, but the sheer amount and force of the spirits and rebel gods had started to drive them back from their task. Croutonious paid no attention to the skirmishes of the gods, as he was intently creating and continuing his duty. But this was his fatal mistake. Soon, the P gods had to be sent out into the battlefield. Not nearly as powerful as the Elder Gods, but still providing a significant force in the battle, the P gods used their specialized domains of different major types of soup to fight.

As the wisps of particles streamed from the manifestation of the spirit, it moved with a certain subtle eloquence that portrayed a calm, complacent nature, further justified by the indifference to the chaotic skirmish that was transpiring all around. The Heavenly War was deep into the middlegame, with the metaphysical sweat dripping down the faces of great Gods and Rebels alike. The tension was as thick as the blade of the transcendental sword that was thrust into the preternatural torso of the monstrous Minestronen Goulash, who merely cast aside the blade. The calm spirit surveying this chaotic situation would not be calm for much longer, as the spoon was thrown at his head. Spinning in confusion, he searched around for the projectile and saw it. And that was the end. Another spirit had been taken. The planet of Minestrone had been transformed into a base for the Federation of Annihilation, which was then what Bob's army was called. The very ground of the planet was hot and spicy. The trees grew sour, and the grass, too salty. If the FoA did not need a base planet, this planet would have been decimated in mere seconds.

At this point, Croutonious had started to doubt his plans. The Elder Gods were losing. Badly. The entire FoA could be seen from nearby planets. Elder Croutonious summoned his God Squad to retreat immediately. They too, had a base planet where they resided during the war. It was hidden away in a deep corner of the verse. It was made of liquid soup, but had a layer of solid-ish cheese on top that provided some ground to rest on. It was known as the Oignon Soupe. Bob's forces looked too and fro, but alas, they could not find Croutonious. The balance in the universe at this point was absolutely out of control. There was too much stuff everywhere from the long period of creation. The FoA started destroying everything and anything they could. This dramatically toppled the balance scales again, which was extremely unhealthy for the soupyverse. Meanwhile, Elder Croutonious had stumbled upon something quite interesting. On a nearby planet to their base, there seemed to be an extremely unique species of life that was uncommon. In fact, upon closer inspection, Croutonious found that there was nothing like this planet and its people anywhere else in the entire Soupyverse. Croutonious took the form of one of the people and landed on the surface with his God Squad to obtain more information.
