Chapter 16 - Chapter 16– The Slow Erosion

For the next week, Arthur maintained a rhythm of deceptive normalcy. He attended the Advanced Spatial Theory lectures, sitting in the back row with his chin resting on his hand. While the professor spoke of elementary wormholes, Arthur's Dimensional Sensing was deconstructing the very atoms of the classroom.

He watched the other students—the way they struggled to condense a single drop of liquid Qi, the way they bragged about reaching Rank 3. To them, power was a ladder; to Arthur, it was an ocean they were barely splashing in.

Every evening, he met Seraphina in the sub-space transmission vault. They didn't speak much. The silence between them was heavy, filled with the hum of cooling fans and the crackle of cosmic radiation being translated into data.

"The signal is getting clearer," Seraphina whispered one night, her face pale under the flickering monitors. "It's not a sound, Arthur. It's a sequence. A mathematical proof that our world... is being subtracted."

Arthur leaned over the console, his crimson eyes scanning the scrolling code. He felt a strange resonance in his Void Core. The "Leak" wasn't just energy; it was information. It was the language of the Sixth Plane, a dimension where time and space didn't exist as linear concepts.

"They aren't coming to conquer us, Seraphina," Arthur said, his voice a low, melodic vibration. "They are coming to reclaim the matter that leaked into this dimension eons ago. We are the 'error' in their equations. And they are coming to delete us."

He reached out and touched the screen. A spark of grey lightning danced between his skin and the glass. For a second, the entire academy's power grid groaned. In that moment, Arthur wasn't just a student; he was a bridge.

"Let them delete the world," Arthur murmured, a shadow of a smile touching his lips. "I will be the one who saves the backup."
