Chapter 6 - The Confession That Shocked Everyone

Far away, in a small village, a phone suddenly rang.

A sixty-five-year-old man picked it up.

The moment he glanced at the caller ID, a worried expression appeared on his wrinkled face.

They're calling after such a long time… he thought.

There must be trouble.

He answered the call.

From the other side came a deep, commanding voice.

"We may have found her."

The old man's eyes narrowed.

"But you will have to confirm whether she is truly the one we are looking for… or if this is just a trap meant to lure us in. We cannot take any risks."

There was a brief pause before the voice continued.

"I trust you. Go and find out the truth."

"And one more thing…"

The tone grew colder.

"Kunal Kapoor has returned to India."

"He has started going after Kevin Agrawal."

"Go and investigate everything."

The old man remained silent for a moment before replying calmly,

"Alright, Boss. As you wish."

The call ended.

The old man slowly lowered the phone, his expression turning serious.

It was evening.

Outside Kevin's mansion, several luxury cars were already lined up along the driveway.

From the most expensive car stepped out an elderly man.

He was none other than Kevin's grandfather—Kirtiman Agrawal, the founder of AK Construction Limited.

But he had another identity as well.

One that no one knew about.

Not even Kevin.

Kevin had no idea that his grandfather once worked for an underworld mafia boss.

Although age had forced him to step away from that world years ago, the moment he heard that Kunal Kapoor had returned to India and was targeting Kevin, he could no longer remain still.

So he decided to come and see Kevin himself.

For the past several years, Kirtiman Agrawal had been living quietly in a village.

Because of that, he was dressed in a simple white kurta and dhoti.

From a distance, he looked like nothing more than an ordinary village man.

But appearances could be deceiving.

Kirtiman Agrawal had always preferred simplicity.

Yet there was an undeniable authority in the way he walked.

With steady steps, he entered the mansion.

In the garage stood a boxing ring, and the path leading inside passed right beside it.

When his eyes fell on it, a faint smile appeared on his lips.

Then he continued forward.

When he entered the main hall, Kevin and Ivan were already waiting for him.

Without hesitation, Kirtiman Agrawal walked straight ahead and sat down on Kevin's king-size chair.

As if it had always belonged to him.

Kevin—the man the whole world feared—feared only one person.

His grandfather.

Though perhaps "fear" wasn't the right word.

It was respect.

Deep respect.

After all, the man Kevin had become today was largely because of his grandfather's upbringing.

Kevin stepped forward and bent down, touching his grandfather's feet to seek his blessing.

Ivan did the same.

But Kirtiman Agrawal's expression remained stern.

His eyes settled on Kevin.

"What is all this that I'm hearing?"

His voice was calm—but sharp.

"You want to marry a woman who has just come out of prison?"

He leaned back slightly in the chair.

"Don't you think you should reconsider this decision?"

Kevin felt a slight uneasiness settle in his chest.

He had believed that even if no one else understood him, his grandfather surely would.

Still, he answered calmly.

"Grandfather, I respect you very much."

"But I cannot leave Mahira alone."

"She is in trouble right now."

"And I want to protect her."

His gaze remained steady.

"I made her a promise."

Kirtiman Agrawal's expression hardened.

"You have already been doing that for the past ten years."

"You kept her under tight security without even caring about yourself. Was that not enough?"

His voice rose slightly.

"And now you want to ruin your future by marrying her?"

"Do you even realize that she is the mother of two children?"

Until now Kevin had been calm.

But anger slowly began rising inside him.

"Grandfather…"

His voice dropped.

"Maybe you don't know this."

He looked straight into his grandfather's eyes.

"But let me tell you the truth."

"Mahira went to prison because of me."

For a moment, the entire hall fell silent.

Kirtiman Agrawal's face turned pale.

"What are you saying?!"

Kevin didn't look away.

"Yes, Grandfather."

"What I'm saying is the truth."

His voice was steady.

"That night… it wasn't Mahira who killed her husband."

A heavy silence filled the room.

Kevin finished the sentence quietly.

"I did."

Ivan, who had been silently listening until now, suddenly froze.

His eyes widened in shock.

He shot to his feet.

"What?!"
