!
'Brook' sensed the 'cat' behind him, shuddered, and started running while waving his hands.
White water droplets appeared above his head, just like the sweat effects seen when characters run in cartoons.
The giant cat stood still, but its arms elongated at an extremely fast speed, soft as if it had no bones.
The cat's hands wore pristine white gloves, distinguishing them from its black body, much like Mickey Mouse.
However, the edges of the cat's gloves were tinted a dark red, like fresh bloodstains, looking extremely creepy and terrifying.
Soon, Brook was grabbed by the cat, and its soft arms quickly retracted.
"Squeak! Squeak!" Brook struggled, letting out miserable cries similar to a mouse.
"Woo-woo-" The cat brought Brook up to its massive face, emitting a purr of excitement.
"Ha—"
The giant cat opened its mouth wide, revealing square, white teeth and blood-stained gums.
Then...
With a "squelch!", it shoved Brook straight into its mouth and began chewing.
There were even cartoon effects of blood splattering.
But...
At a time like this, the effects were not pleasing to the eye; instead, they made one's hair stand on end, allowing one to truly feel the pain of being bitten to death.
"!" (x3)
Seeing such a terrifying scene, the tension that had just eased instantly spiked, and the three of them didn't even dare to breathe loudly.
Immediately, without needing to discuss it, they silently decided to leave together.
The camera slowly moved, keeping the giant cat chewing in frame; after all, it was standing outside the candy store, and to leave, they had to pass through the broken window.
It seemed the giant cat was enjoying its meal, or perhaps because it was a two-dimensional object, it didn't notice the camera side.
Avoiding glass shards.
Crossing the window.
The camera faced the giant cat's back.
Slowly moving away.
Suddenly, in the blink of an eye, the cat had turned around to face the camera.
Its pupil-less eyes stared straight at the center of the screen, and its blood-stained mouth widened, as if smiling.
"Ha-ha-..." This time, it let out an eerie, human-like laugh.
"Run!!!" Johnson shouted.
The camera was no longer pointed at the giant cat, but rather at the corridor leading to the mall entrance.
Ava ran in front, followed by Johnson, and finally Lucas, who was in charge of filming.
Within seconds.
The screen spun wildly.
With a "clatter!", the camcorder fell to the ground.
But the camcorder wasn't broken and was still working, with the lens coincidentally pointed at Lucas, whose face was pixelated.
Lucas's left ankle was grabbed by the giant cat's extended right hand, tripping him to the ground; he gripped the floor cracks tightly, struggling to escape his predicament.
"Lucas!"
Johnson appeared in the frame, grabbing Lucas's wrist and trying to help him break free.
Unfortunately.
Johnson also ended up being dragged to the ground.
The strength of the two young men was completely disproportionate to the giant cat holding their feet; being 'eaten' was a foregone conclusion.
"No! Lucas! Johnson!"
"Run! Run! Don't worry about us!"
"Ava, call the police! Quick! You can't help!"
Video playback ended.
Aftermath:
On February 3, 2008, in the early morning, the local police department received a report from a young woman named Ava, claiming her two friends had been killed by some kind of giant cartoon cat.
Although the local police department considered the murder event Ava described to be complete nonsense and refused to accept the case due to the early hour.
This successfully caught the attention of Serana, who was monitoring the World, and she notified several local Agents to contact Ava.
Subsequently, a total of six Agents were ordered to rush to the mall.
2. Firefight.
The Sergeant in charge of commanding the Agents obtained Ava's phone number through Serana's assistance and had a brief communication with her.
The following is an audio file copied by Serana;
Ava: "(Sobbing) Hello... help me, please... no one believes what I'm saying..."
Sergeant: "I believe you, but I need you to stay where you are and don't move; my team and I will arrive shortly."
Ava: "Who... who are you... (Interrupted)."
Sergeant: "Who we are is not important; please stay where you are while ensuring your own safety."
Ava: "Um... okay..."
Call ended.
The six Agents arrived at the scene in two SUVs at 03:14 in the morning.
Given that no infection-type situation had occurred, the Agents' equipment was standard issue, though they still wore mechanical skeletons for safety.
Cutting to Sergeant's personal video file;
When they arrived at the parking lot outside the mall, Ava, who was waiting outside, immediately stepped forward and tearfully recounted what had happened.
The Agents determined that this anomaly possessed a high degree of aggression.
After a brief discussion, the six Agents split into two groups.
A group of five, led by the Sergeant, entered the mall to investigate, while one Agent from the other group remained outside to protect Ava.
The five Agents entered in a standard formation, with the Sergeant in the center in command, and two Agents each in the front and back.
The Agents first quickly arrived at the candy store where the incident occurred, finding only two pools of blood and an HVR-HD 1000C camcorder.
They did not find the giant 'monster cat'.
But after the Sergeant recovered the camcorder...
"~!!"
They heard the jukebox music Ava had described.
At the same time, the 'monster cat' also appeared in the Agents' field of vision, and it was chasing a 'Brook' that should have already been eaten.
The moment they spotted the 'monster cat', the Agents opened fire on it.
The attack was effective.
When the bullets passed through the 'monster cat's' body, they left bullet holes and triggered the special effects of a cartoon character being shot.
The 'monster cat' and 'Brook' made expressions of panic and terror, running towards the second floor of the mall.
The Agents followed closely behind.
Eventually, in the central hall on the second floor, they found a 1952 Motorola 21K1 black-and-white television set.
The television was not plugged into a power source, yet it continued to play a black-and-white cartoon titled "Brook and the Monster Cat".
The Agent turned the power-off knob, but the television continued to work.
The Agent attempted to move it.
But when the television was moved more than four meters away from the initial discovery point, it would vanish into thin air and regenerate at the original location in an incomprehensible way.
They tried multiple times.
To no avail.
Subsequently, Serana, who had been monitoring the Sergeant and the other Agents the entire time, confirmed that the anomaly could not be physically moved and advised all Agents to withdraw from the mall.
Personal video file playback ended.
