[Phase 1: The Ocean's Betrayal]
The fall of the Sun Spire had turned the world's climate into a chaotic mess. But as Ren stood on the deck of a black-wooded galleon, the sea before him didn't look like water. It looked like liquid sapphire, pulsing with a rhythmic, divine light.
The third anchor was not a building. It was a living creature: The Azure Kraken, a beast the size of a city, tethered to the sea floor by the Goddess of Tides.
[System: Deep Sea Domain Detected.] [Status: Oxygen Depletion (Active).] [Enemy: The Guardian of the Third Anchor.]
[Phase 2: Into the Depths]
Ren didn't need a boat. He walked to the edge of the deck and stepped off. But he didn't splash into the water. The sea parted before him, a cylinder of dry air forming around his body as he descended into the dark blue void.
[Skill Activated: Abyssal Pressure.] [Effect: The ocean's weight is now your weapon.]
Behind him, Stalker One moved through the water like a streak of violet ink, his daggers creating cavitation bubbles that shattered the skulls of the defending Mer-folk soldiers.
[Phase 3: The Heart of the Tide]
At five thousand meters below the surface, the light of the sun was a myth. There was only the bioluminescent glow of the Azure Kraken. Its tentacles were wrapped around a massive, glowing trident stuck into a tectonic rift.
THAT IS THE ANCHOR, Ren thought, his eyes glowing purple in the dark.
The Kraken sensed him. A single eye, larger than a cathedral, opened. The water around Ren began to vibrate at a frequency meant to liquefy human organs.
[Phase 4: The Predator and the Prey]
"You are a god of a puddle," Ren's voice vibrated through the water, amplified by his mana. "I am the Monarch of the Endless Void. Know your place."
Ren unleashed the Iron Guard, but this time, the Guard was different. It had absorbed the solar fragments from the previous chapter, its armor now glowing with a dull, volcanic heat that turned the surrounding water into steam.
The Iron Guard grabbed a tentacle the size of a skyscraper and pulled.
[Phase 5: Severing the Life-Line]
While the Kraken was distracted by the burning heat of the Iron Guard, Ren moved like a shadow through the current. He reached the Trident—the physical anchor.
He didn't pull it out. He used the God-Slayer's Fang to "poison" the divine energy within it.
"Erode," Ren commanded.
The purple corruption spread from the dagger into the Trident, turning the sapphire light into a sickly, necrotic grey. The Kraken let out a silent scream, its massive body beginning to dissolve into Abyssal bubbles.
[Phase 6: The Third Star Extinguished]
The ocean surface erupted in a massive whirlpool as the Kraken died. In the sky above, the third star flickered for a second before shattering into a million pieces of black glass.
[System: Third Anchor Destroyed.] [Divine Alignment progress: Delayed by another 12 Hours.] [Rewards: 100,000 EXP, New Passive: 'Deep Sea Sovereign' (Water-Breathing & Pressure Immunity).]
Ren emerged from the whirlpool, standing on the surface of the water as if it were solid ground. He looked at the remaining four stars.
"Four days," Ren whispered. "The Gods are running out of anchors. And I'm just getting started."
