As he continued down the corridor, he took out a handkerchief from his pocket and wiped his face before placing it back again.
---
Soon he arrived outside CLASS 6.
Standing before the door, he paused.
Why did I become a teacher… he thought regretfully.
He reached out and opened the door.
Inside the classroom, the students turned toward him.
VEIN stood beside the chair and placed his left hand on the desk.
Then he smiled.
4.
What should I do now? he wondered.
Should I keep smiling like this… or should I leave?
Maybe leaving would be better.
He began walking toward the door again.
Just as he reached it, the door opened from the other side.
A FEMALE PUNE stood there holding an attendance register and a subject book.
"Page number fifty-two. Concept number six," she said, handing the books to him.
VEIN accepted them and bowed slightly.
"Thank you, ma'am."
She closed the door and walked away with a faint smile.
VEIN looked down at the books.
Now how can I get out of here?
He returned to the desk and placed the books on it. The students were staring at him silently.
"It's not like we have to go crazy just because of constant studying," he said casually.
He searched the book for a moment.
"In these books, there are only the thoughts of some human being—how they felt about something. And you're being told to memorize exactly that."
The students looked confused.
"If everything written in books were perfectly applicable to everyone," VEIN continued, "then there would be no difference between you and me."
He closed the book.
"What you experience yourself will always be different."
He shrugged slightly.
"So honestly… I don't think you need to be taught anything."
The class remained silent.
5.
"As for marks, I'll give everyone ninety plus. And attendance? Everyone gets full."
The students looked at one another in confusion.
"Teaching you might break the branches of your creativity tree and force them to grow in one direction," VEIN added.
"So relax. Just enjoy being here."
He walked out of the classroom.
Outside the door he exhaled deeply.
"Saved for today… but sooner or later I'll actually have to teach them."
He straightened himself.
"It will happen when it happens.
