Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: The Final Examination of Souls

The day of the final matches arrived, draped in an oppressive heat. The stadium was packed with Daimyos, villagers, and shinobi from across the nations. High above the arena, in the Kage's booth, Aizen Sosuke stood behind the Third Hokage. Next to them sat the "Kazekage"—who was actually Orochimaru in disguise.

Aizen caught Orochimaru's eye for a fraction of a second. The Sannin's pupils dilated in involuntary terror. He remembered the weight of Aizen's spiritual pressure from the forest. He was no longer a conspirator; he was a terrified spectator in Aizen's theater.

"You seem tense, Lord Kazekage," Aizen remarked, his voice smooth as glass. "Is the heat of the Leaf too much for a man of the desert?"

"Not at all, Advisor Sosuke," Orochimaru rasped through his disguise. "I am simply... eager to see the results of our 'investment'."

The Opening Act: Naruto vs. Neji

The first match began: Naruto Uzumaki vs. Neji Hyuga.

Neji stood with the arrogance of a bird who believed its cage was the entire world. "Destiny has already decided this, Naruto. You are a failure, and I am a genius. The eyes of the Hyuga see through all deception."

Naruto didn't respond with a shout. He stood in the center of the ring, his posture perfectly relaxed. "Neji," Naruto said, and the air around him began to hum. "You talk about destiny because you are afraid to look at the sky. Let me show you what lies beyond your 'vision'."

Neji activated his Byakugan. "Eight Trigrams: Sixty-Four Palms!"

Neji moved like a blur, his fingers striking at Naruto's tenketsu points. But every time his finger was about to touch Naruto's skin, it was deflected by a microscopic, golden barrier.

"What?" Neji gasped. "I'm hitting your points, but my fingers... they can't penetrate!"

"Bakudo #8: Seki (Repulse)," Naruto whispered.

A golden spark erupted from Naruto's chest. The force sent Neji flying backward, sliding across the dirt. Naruto's blue eyes were now glowing with a brilliant, steady gold. He didn't use the Nine-Tails' red chakra. He was using the Spiritualized Reiatsu Aizen had taught him to forge.

"Your destiny is a circle, Neji," Naruto said, walking forward. "But a circle is just a zero. I am the line that cuts through it."

Naruto pointed his finger. "Hado #31: Shakkaho."

A ball of red spiritual fire, far more refined than a standard Fire Style jutsu, blasted toward Neji. Neji spun into his Rotation, but the spiritual fire didn't bounce off—it melted the rotation. Neji was slammed into the wall, unconscious, his "absolute defense" shattered by a force that didn't follow the laws of ninjutsu.

The crowd was silent. The Hyuga elders were trembling. They didn't see a boy; they saw a monster wearing the face of a child.

The Main Event: The Two Kings

The matches proceeded until the one everyone awaited: Sasuke Uchiha vs. Gaara.

As Sasuke entered the arena, his walk was different. He wore a black cloak similar to Aizen's, and his eyes—the Void-Sharingan—were already active. Gaara stood opposite him, his sand leaking out of the gourd like a living, hungry shadow.

"Mother wants your soul," Gaara whispered, his voice cracking. But then, his eyes twitched. The violet seed Aizen had planted pulsed. "No... He wants your soul."

"Let us see who has evolved further under our Master's hand," Sasuke said.

The fight began with a violence that transcended Genin level. Gaara's sand moved with the speed of sound, but Sasuke didn't even move his feet. He used his spiritual wires to redirect the sand, weaving it into a cage around Gaara.

"Chidori?" Sasuke mused, looking at his hand. "No. That is too loud. Too primitive."

Sasuke's hand began to glow with a dark, crackling violet energy. "Hado #63: Raikoho (Thunder Roar Cannon)."

He didn't need hand signs. A massive bolt of violet lightning erupted, shattering Gaara's Sand Shield instantly. Gaara screamed, and as the pain intensified, the transformation began. The Shukaku started to emerge, its giant, sandy form rising above the stadium.

At that moment, the signal was given. Feathers began to fall from the sky. The Konoha Crush had begun.

The Shedding of the Mask

In the Kage's booth, Orochimaru lunged for the Third Hokage, dragging him to the roof. The Sound and Sand ninja began their assault.

But Aizen Sosuke didn't move. He stood on the railing, looking down at the chaos with a faint, bored smile. He reached up and slowly took off his glasses. He crushed them in his hand.

Then, with a single motion, he swept his hand through his hair, slicking it back. A single strand fell over his forehead. His transformation was complete. He was no longer the advisor. He was the God of the New World.

"The era of the hidden villages is over," Aizen's voice carried over the entire stadium, louder than the explosions, more terrifying than the Shukaku's roar. "The 'Will of Fire' has burned out. From today... the world will know the weight of the Void."
