​"I love you. All of you," Haru whispered, his forehead resting against Raiven’s. His arm remained anchored around Raiven's waist, holding him steady, pulling him close with a gentleness that suggested he was afraid even the slightest force might break the man beneath him.

​Raiven let out a shaky breath, closing his eyes as he surrendered to Haru's warm embrace.

​Haru buried his face in the crook of Raiven’s neck, his breath warm against the skin.

​"If you keep saying things like that, I might just have to pin you down and fuck you again," Raiven murmured, a small, tired smirk tugging at his lips.
​Haru let out a soft, melodic chuckle, his lips grazing Raiven’s pulse point. 

Raiven’s skin reacted instantly, a shiver racing through him. He held his breath, his grip on Haru tightening as he fought to savor every ounce of proximity and warmth.

​He held on as if Haru were a ghost that might dissipate at any moment. He was terrified that if he let go, this would all prove to be an illusion,that he would be left in the cold again. That Haru wouldn't be his anymore.

​He wasn't ready to give up the sight of Haru’s beauty, or the way Haru whimpered and moaned his name as he worshipped his body. He had grown to adore Haru's quirks,the old-fashioned phrases that slipped from his tongue, the way his eyes danced with a century's worth of glee and curiosity.

​But most of all, Raiven was afraid that if Haru looked just a little bit closer, he would see the truth: exactly how much he had come to mean to him.
