Chapter 90 - VIP Launch Announcement

This book officially goes VIP at noon today.

I would like to thank all the readers who have followed the story up to this point; getting signed and reaching the VIP stage would be impossible without your support.

Of course, I also need to thank my editor. I was originally planning to give up, but I never expected to be "plucked" from obscurity. Thank you so much, Editor Juzi.

I don't consider myself a complete newbie anymore; I believe many readers here followed me from Huaben. But to be honest, after a change in my job, writing 4,000 words a day is a bit of a stretch—especially with evening reports to file—and I have other things to do, like "Genshin, Start!"...

However, I promise at least 4,000 words a day, and I will definitely not drop this book. I'll do my best to provide bonus chapters.

First, I want to answer a few questions that readers are concerned about.

1. Why does God King Huo use the alias "Baili Du"?

I'm not sure if there are any fans of My Chief and My Regiment here. The "Regiment Commander" Long Wenzhang's real name seems to be Baili Du, and he is my favorite character in all of television. In my original drafts, God King Huo was actually named Long Wenzhang... so I decided to borrow this name.

God King Huo's mindset is largely modeled after the Regiment Commander. He wants to do things, and only wants to do things, to make things "be the way they are supposed to be." Regiment fans should know exactly what that phrase means.

Therefore, dealing with Tang San is what Old Huo wants to do; what Little Huo needs to do is fulfill his role as the Child of Destiny.

But he isn't the Regiment Commander after all, and I don't have the literary talent of Lan Xiaolong (249), so God King Huo will be unscrupulous. He will discard his own life and moral bottom line, even doing things that seem "out of character," like getting involved with Tang San's mother.

Of course, he is also a protagonist; the Legend of the Dragon King timeline mainly focuses on him. His love interests are fixed: Snow Emperor, Liya, and Qiu'er. I feel a man several hundred years old doesn't have much need for romance anyway.

As for God King Huo doing "that sort of thing" with Snow Emperor and Liya, it might be a "poisonous" plot point for some, but I feel there's no need for him to hang himself from the crooked tree that is Princess Tang, nor is there a need to restrict Old Huo's thinking so much, so I arranged it this way.

Regarding the Ah Yin plot... yeah, it really doesn't seem like something Old Huo's character would do. At this point, I can only apologize to readers who find it distasteful. Ah Yin is not part of the harem; she is merely a pawn.

2. Why make Lan Xuanyu a reincarnator?

There are too many "Tang San Rebirth" stories out there, and everyone is tired of them. So I chose a guy who, in my opinion, is even more of a "bastard" than God King Tang. Lan Xuanyu was the lucky winner. He is my least favorite protagonist of all—even worse than God King Tang—so this is a bit of an innovation.

You can count his black marks one by one; I promise I'm not making them up. They can all be found in the original works.

As for why I didn't swap out Tang Wulin—let me clarify: I'm indifferent toward Tang Wulin. I don't like him, but he is widely considered the "moral peak" of the Tang family online. If I made him a villain, I'd probably be flamed to death...

Next, Little Huo's love interests.

I might add a few more later, but the rest are basically in the character list. As the author, I have no feelings for the "Huo-Dong" pairing. Whether it's Wang Dong or Wang Dong'er, in my eyes, they are no different from Princess Tang—just a dog leash with a different name.

I remember back in middle school when Unrivaled Tang Sect was being serialized, most of my classmates didn't like Wang Dong either. Therefore, there will be no Wang Dong in this story. This might disappoint some readers.

Regarding Little Huo's martial soul, "Deep Blue Glazed Dragon," and its strange four-pair, eight-wing design.

My personal favorite light novel is Accel World. You might not have heard of it, but you definitely know the author: Reki Kawahara, who also wrote Sword Art Online.

Personally, I think the Accel World novels are better and more complete than SAO, and the protagonist Haruyuki is a better, more realistic character than Kirito. Unfortunately, there are too many "face-con" (looks-obsessed) people in the world who are prejudiced against Haruyuki, which is why a second season of the anime is nowhere in sight...

I digress. The design and abilities of the Deep Blue Glazed Dragon are referenced from "Seiryu" (Azure Dragon) of the Forbidden City's Four Gods. It looks neither like a Western dragon nor an Eastern dragon. The intention is that the Dragon God bloodline is merely a catalyst; what shaped this martial soul was Old Huo's essence blood and Little Huo's own desires.

Finally, the key to Old Huo's transmigration: The Giant God of the End.

This is also a reference to Accel World. Its origin isn't that complex; perhaps it's just a whim from a higher dimension, tossing down a toy. After all, Douluo is widely considered the "floor tile" of the fantasy genre... to put it bluntly, it's the "Hand of the Author" making the plot a bit more logical.

We aren't following the Shrek route. Readers have probably realized by now that going to Shrek in the beginning was just to trigger the "Salted Fish" and flirt with girls. Later, he will develop within the Body Sect and the Star Net Empire. You probably won't be able to guess Little Huo's Divine Position...

I'm still not very good at writing romance or complex plot details. After all, your author has been single since birth, so I can only adapt scenes from the romance novels I've read.

That's all for now. I don't quite understand the rules for bonus chapters, but I'll just write more whenever I have time.

Thank you, everyone!
