Chapter 11 - Julian

Your training pushed deeper than most students ever dared.

The castle's lower levels had become your domain.

The basement labyrinth stretched beneath the castle like a buried city. Tunnels carved from ancient stone wound through forgotten vaults, cracked pillars, and chambers sealed for centuries.

Torches flickered against the walls as you walked through one of the deeper corridors.

At your side hung Excalibur.

Across your back rested the Trident of Atlantis.

But those were only the beginning.

Over the past year you uncovered more artifacts hidden across the castle's forgotten vaults.

• The Crown of Tides — an ancient circlet rumored to amplify control over water and storms.

• The Gauntlet of Titan Roots — a heavy stone gauntlet etched with earth runes that strengthened your Earth Control magic.

• The Bone Horn of Tartarus — a cracked ivory horn used for summoning creatures from the ancient underworld.

But the most dangerous thing you learned wasn't about weapons.

It was summoning.

Deep within a circular chamber beneath the castle, you drew a summoning circle using powdered obsidian and chalk lines carved into the stone floor.

Three torches burned around you.

The Bone Horn rested in your hand.

You lifted it and blew into it.

The sound that echoed through the chamber was low and hollow, like the roar of a distant beast.

The ground trembled.

The summoning circle ignited with deep red fire.

Then the shadows inside the circle began to move.

Something massive rose from the darkness.

Three heads.

Six glowing eyes.

Black fur like smoke rolling across muscle and bone.

Cerberus.

The legendary three-headed guardian beast stood towering before you, each head staring with burning eyes.

For a long moment, nobody moved.

Then slowly…

The beast bowed.

Your summoning had worked.

Cerberus now answered to you.
