Later that day the board of directors called an emergency meeting.
Emily sat nervously at the long conference table.
Several directors looked at her suspiciously.
One of them spoke sharply.
"Miss Carter, you were the last person to access the financial files."
Emily shook her head.
"I accessed them for a report."
Another director slammed the table.
"And hours later those files were leaked."
Emily's voice trembled slightly.
"I didn't send anything!"
The room grew tense.
Finally Alexander spoke.
"Enough."
The directors looked at him.
Alexander's voice was calm but icy.
"The investigation already confirmed the leak came from an external source."
The room fell silent.
One director frowned.
"Then why was Miss Carter's login used?"
Alexander replied coldly.
"Because someone hacked her account."
The directors exchanged uneasy glances.
Alexander stood up.
"This accusation is finished."
No one argued further.
But Emily realized something important.
