Aries's POV
Break time had just started.
Students filled the hallway with noise and laughter.
I was leaning against the wall near the stairs when I saw someone walking toward me.
Jay.
At first I didn't think anything of it.
Then I looked closer.
She looked terrible.
Her face was pale.
Her eyes half-closed.
"Jayjay."
She looked up slowly.
"Oh… hey."
I walked closer.
"Why do you look like a ghost?"
"I don't."
"You do."
"I'm fine."
I folded my arms.
"You always say that when you're not fine."
She groaned softly.
"Aries, please don't start."
"Did you eat?"
"No."
"Jay."
"I'll eat during break."
"It is break."
"…Later break."
I stared at her.
"You're impossible."
She smiled weakly.
"Runs in the family."
I sighed.
"Your head again?"
She blinked.
"…Maybe."
That confirmed it.
"You should go home."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"You're stubborn."
"Thank you."
I rubbed my face.
"If you collapse I'm not carrying you home."
"Dramatic."
She started walking again.
But her steps looked… unstable.
I watched her disappear down the hallway, a bad feeling sitting in my chest.
Something wasn't right.
