Jeana's POV
The living room was quiet and warm.
Gemma and I were sitting on the large sofa, a bowl of popcorn between us while a movie played on the television. The lights were dim and the soft glow from the screen filled the room.
Gemma laughed at something in the movie.
"Oh my god, that character is so stupid."
I chuckled lightly.
"He really is."
The house felt peaceful.
Comfortable.
For once, there were no loud voices, no rushing around, no arguments.
Just a quiet evening.
Then suddenly—
The front door opened.
Gemma and I both turned our heads toward the entrance.
Jay stepped inside.
The moment I saw her, I immediately sat up straight.
Her hair was wet.
Her clothes were soaked.
And the expression on her face…
Anger.
Pure anger.
The air around her felt heavy.
Gemma blinked in shock.
"Jay?"
I stood up quickly.
"Sweetheart, what happened?"
Jay didn't respond.
She simply walked past us.
Her footsteps were sharp and fast as she headed toward the stairs.
Gemma frowned.
"JayJay?"
Still no answer.
She just continued walking upstairs.
The bedroom door upstairs slammed shut.
Gemma and I stared at each other.
"What was that?" Gemma asked.
I sighed softly.
"I don't know."
I picked up my phone immediately.
"Let me call Jaspher."
The phone rang for a moment before he answered.
"Jeana?"
"Jaspher," I said quietly. "Jay just came home."
There was a short pause.
"So early?"
"Yes."
"And?"
I glanced toward the staircase.
"She looked angry."
"How angry?"
"Her clothes were completely wet."
Another pause.
"Did she say anything?"
"No."
"She didn't answer our questions. She just went straight to her room."
Jaspher sighed on the other end.
"I still have one meeting left."
His voice became serious.
"I'll come home right after."
"Alright."
I ended the call.
Gemma was watching me carefully.
"Well?"
"He's coming home after his meeting."
Gemma nodded slowly.
"This must be serious."
Just then—
Footsteps came from the stairs.
Jay walked down again.
But this time she had changed clothes.
Black training pants.
A loose shirt
Her hair tied back.
She didn't even look at us.
She simply walked past us toward the hallway.
Gemma frowned.
"Where is she going?"
I already knew.
"The gym."
Jay opened the door to the house gym and walked inside.
The door closed.
A second later—
THUD.
THUD.
THUD.
The sound of fists hitting a punching bag echoed through the house.
Gemma and I slowly walked toward the gym door.
We didn't open it.
But we could hear everything.
Jay's punches were fast.
Hard.
Angry.
The punching bag creaked loudly each time it swung.
Gemma whispered,
"She's really angry."
I nodded.
"Yes."
We stayed there for a few minutes.
But the punching never stopped.
So we went back to the living room.
An hour passed.
Then another.
The sounds from the gym never slowed down.
Two hours later the front door opened again.
Jaspher walked in, loosening his tie slightly.
He looked tired from work but alert.
"Where is she?"
I pointed toward the hallway.
"In the gym."
Then I added quietly,
"She hasn't stopped since she went in."
He frowned.
We walked toward the gym door together.
Through the glass window we could see Jay.
Her hair was messy again.
Her shirt soaked with sweat.
Her fists moved rapidly as she kept punching the bag.
Over.
And over.
And over.
Jaspher watched silently.
I pointed to the corner of the gym.
"There."
He followed my finger.
A punching bag lay on the floor.
The leather split open.
The chain broken.
"She already broke one."
Jaspher sighed deeply.
"That girl…"
Just then the front door opened again.
Aries walked inside.
"Evening."
He looked at the three of us standing near the gym.
"What's going on?"
Jaspher asked immediately.
"Where's Jay?"
I pointed toward the gym.
Aries walked closer and looked through the glass.
Jay was still punching.
Nonstop.
Aries exhaled slowly.
"Yeah… that makes sense."
Jaspher crossed his arms.
"What happened at school?"
Aries leaned against the wall.
Then he started explaining everything.
Freya.
Matilda.
The water.
The slap.
The fight in the hallway.
And finally…
Jay grabbing Matilda's neck.
Gemma gasped quietly.
"So that's why she came home soaked."
I nodded.
Jaspher listened silently the entire time.
His expression slowly darkened.
When Aries finished, Jaspher sighed.
"I'll talk to her."
He opened the gym door.
The loud sounds of punching immediately filled the hallway.
Jay didn't even notice him enter.
Her fists kept hitting the bag repeatedly.
THUD.
THUD.
THUD.
Jaspher walked closer.
Then he spoke gently.
"Princess."
Jay didn't respond.
Her punches kept going.
Jaspher sighed slightly.
Then he stepped forward and grabbed the punching bag.
And pulled it away.
Jay's fist shot forward again.
But this time—
It stopped just inches from his face.
For a second…
Everything froze.
Then Jaspher smiled calmly.
"Hi, princess."
Jay's eyes widened slightly.
She immediately pulled her hand back.
Then she sighed heavily and rubbed the back of her neck.
"…Sorry, Dad."
Jaspher chuckled softly.
"I should hope so."
Jay leaned against the wall, breathing heavily.
Sweat dripped down her face.
Jaspher looked at her gently.
"Now…"
He crossed his arms.
"Do you want to tell me what happened today?"
Jay closed her eyes for a moment.
Then opened them again.
The anger was still there.
But now…
There was exhaustion too.
And the conversation that followed…
Was going to be a long one.
