Chapter 69 - Chapter 69 Michael's Power

Chapter 69 Michael's Power

"Didn't I say..."

"Angels should care for one another, not fight each other?"

Yahweh's face darkened; he was unusually angry.

"Look at what you're doing now!"

"You almost wrecked the house!"

The raven flapped its wings, watching from afar with glee, seeing the two little angels about to suffer.

It was overjoyed.

It let out a healthy, cawing laugh.

"Lord... it's Michael!"

"He's always looked down on me!"

Lucifer pouted, pointing at Michael, and was the first to complain.

Michael was stunned...

When did he ever look down on Lucifer?

"No way! It's Lucifer!"

"He said he wanted to differentiate responsibilities, establish order…"

"To be the king of angels!"

"And to make everyone do things they don't like…"

"That's absurd!"

Michael retorted, his face flushed, listing all of Lucifer's crimes…

The two were like two quarreling children, constantly trying to play the victim so that an adult would intervene…

But… the adult was angry.

Yahweh punched each of them hard on the head.

The two angels saw stars, clutching their heads, tears streaming down their faces.

"But that's not the reason you're fighting!" Yahweh said.

"I already know what happened…"

"Establishing order in Heaven is the right idea… In the future, if the number of angels increases, a system will indeed be needed to better manage them and ensure a stable and harmonious order in Heaven…"

Hearing this, Lucifer raised his head, glanced at Michael, and gave him a look that seemed to say, 'See, I was right…'

"But…"

"Lucifer, you disregarded the feelings of your fellow angels, only thinking of yourself. That's wrong!"

"Michael, too. Although you stood up for the angels, which shows responsibility and courage, you shouldn't have rashly agreed to a duel with Lucifer…"

"Instead, you should have tried to resolve the problem in a more rational and harmonious way. If you couldn't solve it, you could have come to me, instead of being provoked by Lucifer and getting into a fight with him."

Michael hung his head, like a scolded kitten.

At this point, Yahweh looked at the two bowed angels before him, sighed, and said with self-reproach:

"This is also my fault..."

"Knowing this, I still didn't properly educate you..."

"However... it's not too late now."

As he spoke, Yahweh cast his gaze around.

The broken walls and rubble of the dueling arena floated in the air, scattered gold bricks and jade tiles filling the azure sky. Even the massive white-gold dome had dozens of holes punched into it. The dueling arena barely maintained its basic structure, but no one would question whether this hall would collapse at any moment...

Besides the dueling arena, the battle had also affected some other side halls. The walls of those halls were covered in cracks, and some were engulfed in flames...

If these two continued to fight every now and then, they might just tear down the entire Hall of Heroes.

After a pause, Yahweh addressed the two angels before him:

"I will punish you both..."

"You must work together to repair all the buildings in Valhalla that you have damaged..."

"No angel may assist you during this time."

"Secondly,"

"Since you are so devoted to the angelic order, you must simultaneously repair Valhalla and establish a reasonable angelic order. If either of you objects, that order will be invalid..."

"Only when you two are of one mind and can fully understand each other..."

"Can this order be established...and the punishment end."

"During this time, except in necessary circumstances, no angel will contact you. I will completely seal off Valhalla, prohibiting any angel from entering or leaving."

"Even...I will not come to see you."

Michael and Lucifer were stunned.

Their eyes widened in disbelief as they watched the fatherly, divine figure... vanish from the spot.

The two angels involuntarily stepped forward, reaching out to try and stop the figure. But it was all in vain.

Then, the two felt their feet sink, a sense of weightlessness washing over them...

When they came to their senses,

they realized—

The magnificent Valhalla, under the power of God, had sunk into the clouds like a swamp, disappearing below the horizon of heaven, along with the two archangels, imprisoned within the clouds.

"It's all your fault...Michael!"

Lucifer, tears welling in his eyes, glared at Michael.

"We're hated by God now!"

Michael retorted, "Did you do the right thing? Wasn't it all your doing?"

Lucifer wanted to say something more.

But Michael interrupted him.

"Forget it, what's the point of arguing?"

"It's come to this."

"We can only fulfill the Lord's punishment for us..."

"Let's repair Valhalla first..."

With that, Michael spread his wings and flew towards the sky, pushing aside the floating ruins on the dome...

Lucifer remained standing.

Only from the sky came Michael's voice—

"Don't just stand there like an idiot, come lend a hand."

Lucifer was taken aback.

He looked up at the glowing figure.

After hesitating for a long time, he finally spread his wings and followed...

...

"Judging solely by strength and rank..."

"Lucifer should have the advantage."

Yahweh recalled the fight.

The raven was overjoyed. It had long disliked Lucifer, and if Michael hadn't intervened, it would have beaten that arrogant brat up sooner or later.

"Twelve wings, that's the limit for a mid-level angel..."

"It's even very close to the ranks of the high-level angels I established..."

"If you don't consider other factors, its combat power is almost equivalent to that of the Olympian gods."

The raven, listening, couldn't help but interject:

"Then why couldn't that arrogant brat beat the glowing brat?"

Yahweh smiled, his gaze piercing through the clouds to see the two brothers working together to repair the damaged buildings in the imprisoned Valhalla. He explained:

"Because the authority Michael gained from the Well of Wisdom is very special..."

"It actually manifested when dealing with the avatar of Nyarlathotep..."

The raven pondered for a long time, but still couldn't understand. It asked:

"Lord, what special ability does the Glowing Boy possess?"

Yahweh, no longer keeping them in suspense, explained:

"Anyone of lower rank than him will be stripped of their divine power and authority for a certain period..."

"This is a special power constituted by numerous runes invoking various laws..."

"It had no name before."

"And I will bestow upon it the name—"

"The Light of Judgment."

The raven, upon hearing this, paled in shock. It circled anxiously, saying:

"That's too unfair!"

"If in the future he can reach the rank of God-King..."

"Then he could crush Zeus?"

"Wouldn't that make him only slightly weaker than me?"
