Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Talent Farming Begins

Lin Kai stared at the glowing sparks floating around the classroom.

Red sparks.

Blue sparks.

Golden sparks.

They drifted through the air like lazy fireflies.

But no one else seemed to notice them.

Zhang Wei was busy showing off his small flame to the students around him.

"Look, look! I can already control it!"

Someone shouted excitedly.

"Damn, that's awesome!"

Lin Kai, however, was staring at something else.

Above Zhang Wei's head…

Three more sparks appeared.

They slowly floated downward.

Lin Kai swallowed.

He casually stretched his arm as if he was adjusting his sleeve.

Then his finger lightly touched one of the sparks.

Ding.

Fire Talent Fragment absorbed.

Talent Progress: 6%.

Lin Kai's heartbeat instantly sped up.

He kept his expression calm and quickly touched another spark.

Ding.

Fire Talent Fragment absorbed.

Talent Progress: 9%.

A third spark floated toward him.

Ding.

Fire Talent Fragment absorbed.

Talent Progress: 12%.

Lin Kai slowly sat down in his seat.

His mind was spinning.

Three fragments.

Just like that.

No effort.

No training.

Nothing.

Meanwhile Zhang Wei was still proudly explaining his talent.

"I think I can already feel the fire element inside my body."

Someone asked excitedly.

"Really?!"

Zhang Wei nodded proudly.

"Yeah. The teacher said talented people can sense it quickly."

Lin Kai almost laughed.

Of course you can sense it.

I just stole three pieces of it.

But he quickly controlled his expression.

Teacher Zhao clapped his hands at the front of the classroom.

"Quiet."

The students slowly settled down.

"We will continue the awakening test."

"Next student. Liu Fang."

A girl nervously walked toward the crystal sphere.

Lin Kai's attention, however, was completely elsewhere.

He looked around the classroom.

And the more he looked…

The more ridiculous the situation became.

Above every student's head—

Sparks kept appearing.

Some were small.

Some were bright.

Some floated around slowly before falling like glowing snow.

Lin Kai suddenly realized something important.

They keep spawning.

His eyes widened slightly.

That meant the fragments weren't limited.

They kept appearing whenever someone used or awakened their talent.

Which meant…

Lin Kai glanced at the crowded classroom.

Thirty students.

Hundreds of sparks.

A slow smile appeared on his face.

This place is basically a treasure vault.

At that moment—

BOOM!

A burst of blue light exploded from the crystal.

Teacher Zhao announced loudly.

"Water Talent. Low Grade."

Applause filled the classroom.

But Lin Kai barely heard it.

Because at that exact moment—

A rain of blue sparks appeared above the girl's head.

Lin Kai nearly stood up from excitement.

Jackpot.

He leaned slightly forward in his chair.

Stretching his arm casually.

Touch.

Ding.

Water Talent Fragment absorbed.

Touch.

Ding.

Water Talent Fragment absorbed.

Touch.

Ding.

Water Talent Fragment absorbed.

His talent progress began climbing rapidly.

12%.

15%.

18%.

21%.

Lin Kai forced himself to stop.

If he kept collecting like a vacuum cleaner, someone might notice.

He took a deep breath.

Calm down.

Act normal.

Teacher Zhao finally finished the awakening tests.

He looked around the classroom seriously.

"Today marks an important step in your lives."

"Those who awakened talents must train hard."

"Those who failed…"

His gaze briefly passed over Lin Kai.

"…should not lose hope."

Lin Kai scratched his cheek awkwardly.

Too late.

Hope just found me.

The bell suddenly rang.

Ring—!

Class was over.

Students immediately began discussing their results excitedly.

Zhang Wei stood up proudly.

"Let's go to the training hall later."

"People with talents should start practicing early."

Several students nodded eagerly.

Lin Kai also stood up.

But his eyes were shining.

Because the moment everyone started moving—

Even more sparks appeared in the air.

Lin Kai looked at the glowing fragments floating everywhere.

Then he quietly whispered to himself.

"…School might actually be the best farming spot."

And with that thought—

He began picking them up.

One by one.
